Since the patch I've noticed that matches don't last as long. In my observation, this is due to mech players being damaged and killed faster than before. Center torsos are being destroyed while the rest of the armor isn't touched. It was very seldom for players to be "one shotted" but now happens frequently.
If this is an attempt to reduce the duration of a match, it should be reversed. If player wanted fast pace game play there's the opinion of playing light mechs or Hawken. I think an ideal match should last about 15mins. By this time ammo is low, limbs are missing, strategies are broken and players are scattered about the map. This makes for better spectator viewing. Faster matches will naturally happen with lopsided skill based teams.

Not noticed any difference in my matches from my point. My mechs still get damaged all over before I get killed.
Maybe it was just a run of good players who coincidentally been aiming only at CT. The LRMs are still damaging the CT disproportionately, so the return of LRMs may play a part too.

I blame ELO - since the last patch I keep getting matched into teams that get themselves wiped out in the first 3 minutes, leaving me to fight off the whole enemy team of 8 all by myself.
