My suggest is to introduce mech quirks to encourge the use of multiple weapons and stop boating some what.

Example. Awsomes would have an increase heat efficiency when usinging PPC's (give the awsome back a role)
Stalkers could have an increase firing rate for Missles

Im sure there could be others that would encourge you to use close to TT load outs but not stop you from putting the load out you want.

I think you mean "Perks" as in perquisites...that is, certain benefits garnered through association, employment or use of a person, place or thing. In this case, each battlemech would provide different "perks" (i.e., benefits) when used by the pilot.

Quirks are generally used to describe imperfections that are charmingly cute or pleasant...or odd.

I guess both could apply, but quirks usually only offer cosmetic or aesthetic nuances, rather than actually benefits (i.e. PPCs having a bonus to heat efficiency)

:)

EDIT: I suppose a mech could have a quirk that caused it to intermittently (and temporarily) start limping (as if "legged"), and through defects in the actuator conduits allowed heat from PPCs to vent more rapidly while this malfunction was occurring (or something like that). But, that seems like a LOT of back end programming work for such a minor thing. Cool? Yes. Viable? Nope.
