You dont need that much leg armor. Here, what about this?

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1c75b66b12cd3ff

My AWS 8R runs 4 SRM6s with 4 tons of ammo, if you live for a while, you will run out of ammo, the extra ton helps a lot.

I know that that leg armor is useless, just using up the extra weight haha. i might try the 310 when i get it elited. 65 tweak speed doesnt sound too bad.

My 8R goes 66.8 and it aint too bad. Gets to those backpedaling Highlanders quick enough to nuke with SRMs. Plus a Stalker can take a monster beating when you go at it head on. I'd say go for it

You can put another ton of ammo under the seat, it will get used up first so its pretty safe.

So you strip your leg armor.
And then you fill your legs with explosive ammunition.

I love running into that kind of mech.

Stalkers dont often get shot in the legs, everyone tries to pop off a side torso.

If their leg dosnt make them explode from ammo then you are stuck with a pissed of stalker with all its weapon hardpoints.

That would work a lot better on a 3F with the greater torso twist. Its what I run with a STD 310.

I'd drop the 6 racks down to 4 racks, pull 4 mediums, trim some armor, and pop in a pair of ER Large. As is, you are useless beyond 540 meters, and less of a threat than many lights between that and 270. Granted, inside of 270 you will drink their tears and feast on their souls.

49 is still a good amount to burn through to get to the juicy internals

That'll only protect you from one volley from pretty much any standard sniper/poptart build. Even dual gauss will be through the armor and possibly setting off ammo explosions on the second shot.

Then you've got a legged brawler that falls off a damage cliff outside of 300m.

This. That config on a 5S makes it a hard time brawler with that tiny 60 of torso twist. STK 3F's are much better brawlers and the layout/hardpoints are exactly the same of those of the 5S.

So you aim for the legs cause there might be some ammo.

120% legit.

Works much better on the 3F. The 5S is just a really expensive 3F with an extra AMS and less torso twist (Which is why I haven't gotten one). Also, don't attempt something similar to this until you at least have your basics unlocked. It's much more fun when you're mastered though.

For a long time, I ran a 5M with 4 medium lasers and 5 SRM6s. I have elite on it and enough XP to pay for master twice over but am still working on getting elite for my third stalker chassis.

Right now, I'm running a 3H with 4 LL and 4 SRM4s with Artemis and it's a beast. I bought the 3H instead of the 3F because the intention was to make it an LRM boat and the 3H has 20 missile tubes in each arm, but with LRMs being craptacular right now, it's unplayable that way.

You could fit the largest engine and 1 extra DHS without losing anything just by adding Endo: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8fbf71180ee77ae

I'm unwilling to add endo to this variant because it is not the only variant I use on the 5M chassis... and the other variants only leave 4-10 slots free.

Under other circumstances, I would jump at your suggestion. So, thanks.
