Got my name from the old days of Halo for the original Xbox. Playing a CTF game on Blood Gulch and I was able to sneak into the enemy base "like a shadow" as some of the opponents said. That is how I got the name Shadow, but when Halo 2 came out and you could play on Xbox Live, I tried the name Shadow but alas, the name was already taken. So I went through the dictionary to find a suitable addition to my name and decided on Deranged.

de·ranged

Sköll

Skoll and Hati were two giant wolves that pursued two heavenly bodies – Sol (Sun) and Moon.
Skoll and Hati were descendants of the troll-wives or giantesses known as the Iarnvidiur.
One of the signs of the coming of Ragnarök was that Skoll would devour the goddess Sol, and Hati would swallow Moon. The Nine Worlds would suffer from long winter.

Yea I saw your Steel Eagles merc unit listed there beneath the ComGuards. Pretty cool. Have you heard from anyone else since those days. I dont know if you remember Mordel, but I heard from him a few years ago. He had a website with some btech info for a while. Not sure if its still up. He was also on the Battlecorps.com website. I see a lot of TBCers around here too. Other then that I don't see too many familiar faces.

I haven't heard from anyone since I left. I found Ito Ogami (old Marik HL) 2 days ago but his posts were 2 years old. Not sure if he's still around. I know Tedra (from my old unit) is still around (she is still writing books), but I haven't talked to her or my friend she was dating in years. Sure would be nice if some folks would show up here.

Are there any other active Mechwarrior games around?

My handle comes from a combination of factors. I love the stage; acting is in my blood. I have a reputation as a performer, even in ordinary spaces - the word 'shakespeare' has often been sarcastically fired my way when I take to exaggeration. It seemed apt. Moreover, it's important in a game to have a designation that is easy to say, quick off the tongue, and identifiable even in heavy fire - Two distinct syllables, non-combat related, but still recognizable as an address, is a pretty standard format for a callsign.

Mine tag comes from Goofy my favorite Disney character. It had always been my online gaming handle since way back.

My Tag comes from a nickname give to me. I am aggressive, and like to win. I do not back down. I have been compared to Attila with my views and attitude.

An old trick my dad showed me for naming D&D characters was to spell your name backwards. It turns out "Nicholas" spelled backwards turns up a realistic-sounding name: Salohcin. I use it for damn near everything, usually shortening it to Sal. Trebov is a phonetic way of spelling my last name backwards, both for realism and the fact that it looks goofy as hell if you spell it correctly.

My D&D standby is a wizard specializing in abjuration named Salohcin Trebov. When in doubt, I just roll him and keep playing.

Hero(n) of Alexandria was an Ancient Greek inventor of whimsical and ahead-of-its-time gadgetry. I like to think of myself as an engineer at heart and while I am currently a useless nobody, one day my mechanical armies will conquer the world.

The birds are also pretty cool...

I got my name (which I use in pretty much every game) from the badass character from the Black Lagoon anime: Revy. It's quite a popular show so I figured it would always be taken and I changed it to Rivy, which I liked a lot (pronounced ree-vee).

She is cool, but I think rock takes the cake for destroying a gunship with a torpedo...

Mine is a short hand of Maximus Exodus which was an RP name I used or listed as the pilot name for records.

My handle was just something I came up with. Or, if you would like me to come up with something, Heal Swan. I know, crazy.

Bear was one of my fav nicknames and became my callsign when I first joined Mechwarrior games. Later after I joined the original incarnation of Gun Special Squadrons I earned the surname (or title) Gun because I proved I was a capable and elite 'mechwarrior to the rest of my teammates.

Bear is my name, Gun is my badge of honor.

Caradepato means Duck Face in Portoguese.

There is a story behind this. When i was 12, i started playing warhammer fantasy (edition five!). The army i then played, and still do, is Orcs and Goblins. I had a (badly) translated army book in a sort of quasi Portoguese (with alot of spanish thrown in, for some reason). Squigs were translated to "Carrapatos", and that over time evolved into my internet handle, "Caradepato".

Well my Current nomme de gerre is based on my Persona in the SCA, but in my time in the Mechwarrior universe I have always used the callsign "Twitch" in some incarnation of my ingame handle for mechwarrior 2-4 and mech commander......I have been WiE_Twitch, CW_Twitch, TW_Twitch, and just twitch in any other unit I was in but WiE and CW and TW were the most notable.... my friends for the most part back in school called me twitch.... not because there was something wrong with me but in videogames I would twich and things would blow up....so I was called twitchy or twitch for short.....the nickname carried me through all forms of military based games and online combat flight simulators.....

cant wait to start playing this Hurry up and finish this down load !!!!! Twitch Rides again !!!!!

First Mechwarrior/Battltech Character I ever rolled, Kept him going for over 4+ years within the TT universe we used to play in. I did retire him for a long while, even when playing MW3 and 4 but when this came along the old heart strings started to purr and I knew it was time for old Randalf to come out his Cryostasis and get back into the BT Universe.
