Personally, I don't care much for ER Larges... to hot for not enough gain. If you're using them at range, it's very likely that you'll be blasted with PPCs...
You can drop your leg armor to either 73s (giving you 1 free ton) or 65s (giving you 1.5 free tons). Some people like to go lower, but my rule of thumb is to have the total leg armor be a bit more than the CT armor. Also, you can drop your arm armor to 60s (giving an extra half ton). Nobody shoots you in your arm, they go for the CT or try to strip of your AC20. And 60 armor is still plenty to shield you for torso twisting.
2 tons of AC20 ammo is pretty thin, I found 3 is a good balance. 2 tons of streaks seems like a lot, though I've never ran with 3 launchers.
I don't really care for streaks on my Atlas, but if you want the faster engine, you have to sacrifice somewhere.
With 15 free slots, you can upgrade to endo and get a 350 engine.
Also, I'm assuming you just were messing with builds and left artemis on, but it doesn't help streaks, so you can save your c-bills.

Made use of the remaining fraction of a ton by reallocating leg armor a tad to add in a DHS.

Im not quite sure what your trying to do here with your atlas...are you trying to fight at range, or get in close to the fight?
If you want something that can fight at two ranges, I would go with a hybrid DD-C. STD300, 2PPC, Guass (Put CASE here), 3SRM6. 560 armor, DHS, Endo, ECM, and then fill the rest of it with ammo and heatsinks. The Heat may seem rough, but your either firing your PPCs and Guass, or your SRMs and Guass. No need to fire those PPCs in the heat of a brawl unless your trying to finish someone off.
If you want something faster that hits harder in a brawl*, then STD350, 2ML, 3SRM6, AC/20 would be your build. Also DHS, Endo, ECM, and 560 armor. Just take armor from the legs (should be 57 each leg, more than enough to survive) and your solid. Think i run 4 tons of SRM and 4 tons of AC/20, but again, whatever fits fits. It runs at 63 KPH with speed tweak, and the bigger engine gives you a fantastic torso twist boost when you have all your basics done. Torso twist or die!
*Alternatively, if you really want the large lasers, you can do a STD325 build that uses the leftover tonnage to add larges in, though does run a bit hotter, but is still faster than your average assault. Oh and never use ER Larges. Just dont.
These are my favorite two DD-C builds, and you can easily switch out from one to the other.

Thanks in Advance and note that this is what i am WORKING towards not what i currently have.

looks good, I use ML on mine, and only 1 ton of SSRM ammo, that lets me use more heat sinks, and more AC20 ammo.

You know, i was thinking about something very similar to this myself.. But i was thinking about using the atlas that the AC-20 was in the arm.. (i think it was anyway) So i hope you don't mind me jumping in here
My other option was going with the highlander 733. the main difference was it had 4 Missile hard points.. (i love missiles!)
Anyway.. a quick Q.. Is there a big difference in tanking ability brawling between highlander, and atlas?? I am saving money now.. Only 3.5m to go if i want the atlas,, Otherwise ill buy the highlander, and have enough for endo+doubles
I also was thinking about something like trying to replicate the old Thor, from mech 3.. An ER PPC, a couple AC 5's, with LRM's and some small lasers Not sure if one of the atlas's would be good for this or not..

-That would be bad. Very bad. Unfortunately this game doesnt support versitile builds that include multiple weapon systems. actually I have no idea what a build like that would accomplish. While it is cool to have a brawling highlander, most of those builds need an XL engine to work, and that sucks in a brawl

honstly you dont need full armor in legs for an assault. i usualy cut it down to about 40-50, ive never been legged before i die.
that doesnt mean cut it to nothing, when im in my light and i see enemy assault i always leg test it, there are assault pilots who run around with like 10-20 leg armor because "Who legs an assault?"
if my first salvo at leg doesnt get them to very low armor i abandon idea of trying to let them, 40-50 is plenty of armor for me to avoid trying

this is what i run at moment on my DDC, frankly you have 2 ballistic slots, might as well use them. and 2 UAC/5's give good damage, at low heat and great range.the mediums are great for when your heats up there a bit, but frankly the only thing that will heat shock you is the SRM's
ive had alot of good games with it, and an alpha with it followed by spraying with the UAC/5's till they jam can be devistating. depending on your luck but even controlled shots with it are great
