You're in for a rough road, Svalfangr. Heh...I was reading this thread getting arguments prepared for Jenners, but it seems to be a moot point now.
You're going to die, a lot, and often without doing much. Especially with SRMs in their current state. Hopefully they'll be going back a bit on the hammerblow SRMs took a while back on the 21st, but until then...well, crap. I would recommend picking up the Death's Knell, if you have the fifteen bucks to spare. Medium lasers are a pretty stable weapon unlikely to get nerfed into oblivion like missiles were, and it'll teach you arm-aiming skills like nothing else will. The C-bill bonus will also make you feel a bit better about your earnings rate in this game, which will often feel painfully slow without premium time. Trust a man who's never bought any on that point - the default earnings rate sucks diseased moose wang.

Ok, first, I still have to pronouce my staunch opinion that the Jenner F is one of the best "assassins" in the game. Speed, jump jets, and a 30-point alpha. I don't think another light can do a 30 point alpha on a realistically viable build, currently.
Now, between the choices given, it's kind of a draw. The commando has much more speed, and an entirely respectable loadout. Also, it's viability will be greatly increased in about a week when the BAP patch comes out, boosting Streaks considerably.
However, the Raven is an excellent all-around mech, and the 4X AC20 build could be argued to be an excellent assassin build.
Any of the 3, you can't really go wrong.

Commandos are ideal for advanced players, much like Spiders. If you're not good you're not going to do well.
If you can operate in a pack, it's even better. But good luck, and remember Commandos love heavies and assaults. Just avoid the ones with the fast ballistics and remember that ears love attention on Catapults. Shoot them!

The Commando has one advantage over the Raven--arms can move independently. I have found that once mastered, this allows me to aim those arm lasers so much more accurately.

This is extremely true. If you haven't already, go into your options and unlock your arms from your torso.

Commando 3A or 2D with 200XL, streaks and your choice of beam weapons. The upcoming buff to BAP won't change anything. With that much speed you can dictate both range and your choice of target.
