If I may make a suggestion, instead of doing a full unit debrief, maybe it would be better to do a quick scene with Thom, Cees and Vantas going over the results? Maybe go over the details of any upcoming training simulations too, or even jump forward a bit and just sum them up as though they've already happened?

That sounds like a good idea to me. Oh and I hope I portrayed Li correctly, judging by what I know I think I didn't do too bad of a job.

Agreed on that idea. We'd perhaps assume that a debrief with pilots occurred after the Sim run and move right along onto the CO, XO and Rouges Captain discussing the road ahead?

Thanks guys, just glad to be writing this again. Really have missed it

Oh, and I have a new phone, so skype account is on there, but none of the chat history, or a way of currently joining in. if someone could please invite me, I'd be happy to get back in. New = better phone should mean more active participation.

Hopefully :P

Yep, it was fine Thom. And if something does seem a bit off I'll speak up, no worries. :)

Excellent. And that goes for everyone. If you feel that I am portraying your character wrong, feel free to put me in check and straighten things out.

We never left, just haven't been posting much. Hopefully getting that sorted either tonight or from Monday. Need to figure out what direction I'm sending S&S. Lost all my notes to a critical harddrive malfunction.

Oh, fair enough Dal. Didn't notice personally, hadn't been checking anything except the threads I follow automatically.

I know, I know, sh*tty short post is sh*tty. Still tangling with exactly how I'm going to tweak things, but this should let you guys interact a bit.
I figure Thom can have a word or two with you guys before joining Vantas in C&C while Cees starts the briefing proper maybe?
After that you're free to do as you will. There's plenty of stuff to do on the Drunkard and the Rorke's Drift, so if you want to do something just lemme know where and I'll tell you if I have any ideas. Going to be working on introducing you guys to the Green Hearts, played by Space Pope and Gamma!

Sorry for he absence folks, RL decided to go ahead and take a dump in my lap and it's been hard. To sum it up, moved again, internet service provider lopped it up and I still don't have service at hope (being preppy and coming to you via coffee shop) Dad had surgery and took a turn for the worse... like I said, RL decided to take a dump in my lap. I'm still here though, and will be more so once internet company pulls their head out of their ass and get m connected.

So, Rogue wants asked Space Pope to come in and save the day for you mechwarrior types as the leader of the GreenHearts. The coldest PBI's this side of a mass grave.

All jokes aside, here is my character bio Rogue, of course as an Infantry Company I'll probs have to pull shifts as various other personal but this here is my main dude.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Nevan Delcev
Age: Mid 30's
Height: 5'9
Weight 196
Rank: First Lieutenant
Unit: GreenHearts Mercenary Command

Physical Descrpiton:

Nevan Delcev, Macedonian by ancestry, is short and stocky man in his early thirties with a swarthy complexion. He keeps his head waxed clean but does maintain a well groomed mustache of thick black hair. His sunken eyes are a dark shade of blue. In the field he wears the same combat fatigues as the rest of the green hearts. Off duty he wears “comfy” civilian clothes, performing shorts and shirts to other forms of dress and often wearing sandals or going barefoot. A life long member of the distinctly New Olympian faith (some say cult) which reveres several of the Ancient Greek deities, primarily Poseidon. A small silver chain with a charm depicting a Trident is worn alongside his Free World Lague and GreenHearts dog tags.

Personality:

Known as a skeptic and pessimist with a dour outlook on life and a master of all manner of profanity, obscenity, and vulgarity. Delcev is slow to embrace new ideas, but will obey orders faithfully never the less. Viewing himself as a realist whose main task is to keep the “high ups” of the GreenHearts firmly anchored in reality, Nevan is rarely carried away with optimism, believing in only two kinds of luck. Bad and Worse. When not ruthlessly drilling his platoon Nevan prefers to spend his time fishing, drinking, or swapping war stories and tales of sexual conquests with his fellow GreenHearts. Although like many career soldiers after enough drinks he's willing to tell any perfectly good stranger about his exploits.

Leadership Style:

In charge of fifty battle hardened infantrymen, Nevan has become an efficient officer though many of his troopers view him as a cruel task master. Due to his pessimistic point of view Nevan's platoon is drills twice as long as the other platoons and often times practices dealing with worse case scenarios. Despite all of this the infantry under his command take a sadistic pride in the fact that they are “Better trained to be screwed” than anyone else.

Focusing his tactics on aggressive positioning, a trait he developed on Olvier after his unit was caught out while “sneaking through cover” by an incendiary mech, he prefers to split his platoon into its component squads to prevent one calamity from wiping out the entire unit.

Back Ground:

Nevan Delcev was born into a poor fishing family on the world of New Olympia in the Free Worlds League. Lazy and irresponsible as a youth, Nevan would eventually enlist into the Free Worlds Navy at twenty four years of age after running out of other options. Trained as a Space Marine attached to various trading vessels Nevan's main duty was to act as an escort for the jumpships captain when in port and to defend against boarding attempts by pirate bands.

Nevan served several years with the marines eventually attaining the rank of Corporal before requesting, and receiving, a transfer to a "line" infantry unit in hopes of seeing "more action". Nevan's transfer came just in time for the Operation GUERRERO, where his new unit was tasked with supporting the 20th Marik Militia in taking the world of Oliver.

Placed into the thick of things from the very start Nevan's unit saw some of the heaviest fighting of any infantry regiment in the war. On the world of Oliver Nevan's unit wondered out of their area of operations and was mistakenly identified by an Orloff Grenadier spotter team as Davion loyalists and suffered thirty percent casualties from a “friendly” Arrow-IV bombardment. Weeks later the shell shocked survivors of his company would be caught while trying to cross a corn field by a Vulcan class anti-infantry mech putting crops and troopers alike to the torch. The most senior trooper left out of his company Nevan was given a battlefield promotion to Commander and his unit was pulled off of the front line.

Following the successful conquest of Oliver, his unit worked as a police force as well as volunteering in the efforts to rebuild the worlds shattered infrastructure. Though the world had been declared as pacified by the Marik high command sniper fire and road side bombings by Davion extremists caused mounting losses amongst the few remaining troopers of Nevan's company. Taking”justice” into his own hands Nevan instigated several methods used by the Free Worlds League Military Command when faced with periphery pirates. Accused of "War crimes" for the summary executions of Davion "freedom fighters" by the local Media, Nevan was sized by military police and locked in the brig.

Nevan's case never went to trial. Well aware of the amount of actions committed by Marik Militia officers during the Operation GUERRERO that violated the Ares Convention, as well his own ideas of chivalry, Thomas Marik pardoned Commander Nevan Delcev of any wrong doings, claiming any questionable actions where the result of “traumatic stress received during combat.”

While this kept Nevan away from the gallows, it also saw him discharged from the Free World's Military. Mustered out of the military while still on Oliver and believing himself abandoned by his own nation he quickly booked passage for outreach. Unable to find a major mercenary command willing to accept a warrior with such a checkered pass, Nevan eventually signed on with the GreenHearts Mercenary Command in the closing months of 3058, retaining his junior officers rank and was assigned command of the 1st Company's elite 3nd Platoon a unit of Jumppack equipped Infantry that was in the final stages of rebuilding following severe losses on [Redacted due to Employer Confidentiality Request].

Nice. Operation GUERRERO, or as I've heard some Davies refer to it as the 'Steamroller Offensive' good times. Almost makes me feel like River Dancing. I like this character already, Gamma!

Should we be working on a "sidecar" discussion among the rest of us while Thom and Vantas are having their chat?

Alright, I'm going to get started on the sidecar post. I figure we can set up a scene in an "after action" room adjacent to the sim pits, and I figure the room was probably built to accommodate a much larger group, so people can participate or not as they choose.

I'm going to open with Li watching a replay of some of the highlights from the sim, we can take it from there as little or as much as we want.
