There's an ATD worth asking.

What's happened to the news flashes?

Everyone who used to read and like the ISN reports needs to support this...

Given how sketchy and flaky the ISN updates have been this year, I like this idea a lot more.

The absence of timeline news as well as the constant delay of the Clans is starting to make me think the devs might rewind us a year after all

Oh, we have lots of Clan invasion left before any kind of rewinding would even have to be performed. Look how long it takes them to get as far as they go... I mean, October 3050 is one of the last waves in this immediate timeframe, but there's also the time between then and wave 5, and wave 5 itself.

I am quite familiar with the lore Benedict Park! And yeah there is a lot to go as far as the invasion and come October the game could explode with content and all is well in the world. It's just the silence on the ISN updates, CW, Clans, etc. makes people wonder...

Quite possible all that server abuse last year is finally catching up also

What happened to those lovely news flashes? I liked just seeing them, immersing me in the fluff and making me happy.
Now, if they plan to retcon a year or two; fine with me. Just : The Spice must flow. You can't stop the signal. Keep the news coming!

They could at least announce the fall of Rasalhague in less than two weeks... I mean, it's only fair to let our fellow FRR players know they have lost their homeworld while fighting over some silly drill platforms.

I just heard on the NGNG podcast that they are less dependent on the timeline. Simply because they need to assure the quality of the game. So the idea of matching the timeline is pretty much out the window. They'll launch the clans and historical events probably as they are able to. But priority is getting the game out stable.

If this is indeed the case, that is a crock of sh*t. They need to keep the updates coming and they can STILL do the ISN updates while adhering to the timeline and still get the game out as stable and full release. We still don't have to see the Clans yet because they are dealing direct with house and mercenary combat and those certain mercenaries and house units are currently involved in clan invasion. Thus they can still do ISN reports and just release what's happened so far.

The problem is if we go for the 1 for 1 timeline. They're stuck with a schedule that doesn't take other problems into account. I'm sure they could still do ISN reports. But what happens when they can't meet the dates anymore? Put out broken patches like they did a few times before?

Hopefully after launch they'll have enough of the bigger features in the game. So that they can keep a steady progress to allow for the timeline and ISN reports.

I don't see the problem, essentially we're still at a point where most of the Inner Sphere has no clue what's going on. Comstar is releasing false reports, and the heads of the Houses are keeping it under wraps, along with the Dragoons and Kell Hounds. By the time this game is scheduled for release, we'll be pretty much at the end of Wave 4 where the ilKhan dies and the Clans withdraw to select a new leader. That'll essentially leave us a full year of mostly nothing to do.

That is the problem I see. Come November we pretty much need to fast forward a year to Wave 5. Then the actions will start up again.
