I've been trying to find for a while some method of ripping the computer announcment sounds out of MW2 with out recording the game then clipping out the audio. Like in the mission that has you destroy a reactor you get "Heat spike detected". I wanted to use that for my fans announcement system wav file.
Any one know how to pull the clips out of what ever native format the game used?

Kind of Necroing a thread but how about MechVM? I was able to grab these: rough sound files with it. Many of the Betty sounds need work to get rid of the clicking, speed, and position issues but work mostly.
.prj is most of the files (mw2.prj contains most of the sounds).
Oh and also: Heat level critical beep or Critical meltdown imminent (right click -> save as). It's not what you're looking for.
I made a little clip that many of you might remember using only the files I ripped from my MW2.prj:
I added the music in there from my FLAC rip of my IBM DOS Mechwarrior 2 disc.

Thanks for the links. I think what i might have to do is kill the music and then just go blow up the reactor and start recording audio.

I loved MW2 Betty's voice, and that shutdown alarm? Used to make me shiver everytime! Now, If only we'd have that in MWO...
