If only slight advancements happen over the next thousand years, you could then see why 'Mechs move as slowly as they do, hehe.

As slowly as they do? The Annihilator (infamous for it's sluggishness) can still gallop along at 30km/h (18m/h), the Locust can do 130km/h (80m/h) and the clan Fire Moth can do 160km/h (99m/h), jumping up to 215km/h (130m/h) with MASC switched on.

Nonsense, we've got ICE mech rules, someone get on that.
As to the memory plastic, the question comes up of how much it can pull/lift. It's great that it can change shape, but unless it can haul most of a ton of metal and composite around it's kinda useless for mech construction.

We DO have fission reactors that are the size of an extra-large briefcase, but I'm not sure of their power output. Probably quite low, but they would last for a long while.
A thorium ultracompact reactor would be safe enough for a combat vehicle, and there are no byproducts to steal if you want to somehow make a nuclear weapon out of scraps. Thorium fuel isn't even that good for a dirty bomb.

Try driving that tracked vehicle up the 2-level slope, and come back to me on that, dohohohoho.

We've got faster Locusts than that.
LCT-6M Locust. Ground speed: 226.8 km/h. Enable MASC to reach 302.4 km/h.
Using a custom 'Mech, I can go 702 km/h for short bursts.
