Conquest: A game mode to cap bases. But no one defends em. MechWarrior's cap, then run away, no matter what class the pilot is, has no patients. Like they are in a hurry. Two defence per cap.

They don't defend because anyone not actively capping is usually fighting in the one mass melee that usually happens. Whoever wins that melee then turns their attention to capping and defending at least 3 points.

I think the mechanic works pretty well. Sometimes the team that wins the big fight finds themselves way down on resources and trying to catch up. You can't really "assault ball" in conquest or you will find yourself with a single cap point and no resources.

Your absolutely right, I have noticed the same thing. Assuming that we end up with at least one light in our lance, I normally come up on the chat line and ask them to feedback Recon info and grids. Most of the time they are only too willing to do this which is great, because the Assaults usually have a top speed of 48kph and work best when directed to a target or obvious FEBA.

Once engaged in battle, the Light unit and in some cases the Mediums will break off and go Capping. I must admit that as an Atlas pilot, it can be worrying seeing your fighter support (Light) taking off from the main battle; but then again if the Light is configured as a Pure Recon, or close to that, then it couldn't do much to help in the main battle anyway.
