According to this, the Blacjack will be added to the game with 4 variants: BJ-1, BJ-1DC, BJ-1X, and BJ-3.

Question #1: Where are the BJ-2 and BJ-1DB? Both variants use standard equipment that are available in the current year (3049), and the BJ-2 arguably has the most interesting potential hardpoint layout of the whole group (2x energy, 4x missile).

Question #2: What is the BJ-1X? I haven't heard of it before and can't find any evidence of it in TT lore. It looks to have 4 flamers in the arms from the image, and the preview screenshots of the Blackjack in blue cobra camo appear to confirm this.

The 1X is the original, prototype mech which was designed using flamers. The variant itself is not mentioned or named as "1X' on Sarna, but that is my understanding of what the 1X is.

64,8 means std 180, with cap rating of 235 and 84,6 speed.

Now 81 base speed means base engine 225. That implies a cap of around 290, and therefore a speed of around 105. I don't know what BJ-1X is, but I just might like it. :lol:

Sarna is a good starting reference, but they have left out or not updated some of those pages with record sheet information.

BJ-1X - Original Blackjack prototype -> Record Sheet http://goodsects.got...te/pdf/3065.pdf

You can search for any record sheet, for any Mech or Battletech vehicle here: http://goodsects.gotdns.com/bte/

The BJ-1DB can be built from exact record sheet specs using a BJ-3 if so desired. They did not include it, to reduce redundancy.

The BJ-2 is a Clan Invasion Era production model upgrade of the Blackjack, reaching full production in 3052. The "2" designation can be confusing, but it is actually the "latest" version of the Blackjack during this era even though the BJ-3 designation variant was produced before the 2 variant. The BJ-4 is built in 3067 from the "latest" Blackjack, which is the BJ-2.

Thanks, brotha!

The BJ-1 looks like it could be pretty wicked. Default Std 200 engine (~80 kph), 8 energy hardpoints (3x each arm, 1x each side torso), 18 SHS, std structure, std armor. No jump jets, though. Upgraded to DHS and ES, this thing could really burn someone.

oh noes, 6 PPCs all in the arms... noooo boat!!!!!!!!!

but i am seriously amped up for this mech... the only thing that kills me is that most of the variants probably wont be able to fit a 250 engine.... i hate adding heat sinks... grrr...

if it could fit a 255xl like every other medium in the game, i would be even more amped...

its possible that they will give it a boost to the potential engine size like they did with the centurion (formula says the cent. could hold a 260 but ive heard it can mount a larger one??)

Yes, the CN9-A and CN9-AL (default 200) were both quirked up to 275 max engine rating.
