i think the new may canyonlands network (or however it is called) will cover the badlands, however, I vote for the swamp idea, make it so you're feet or in the water almost the whole map! Also, remember in old battletech how some mechs were equipped with torpedoes? Wouldn't it be cool to add a map that's completely underwater?!

I particularly like the idea of a swamp map. Big trees, a claustrophobic feel, strange shapes half-visible in the gloom - the opportunity to submerge in deep spots of water.

Nice ideas.... I would also include war ravaged city...but since the trees currently offer no resistance of any kind, you would still have Ravens hauling a** through a redwood forrest right? Kinda defeats the purpose of the map.

This is all we need

-Minimum 3 maps per enviroment for diversity

-About 5-10 enviroments (Asteroid/Moon/Desert/Ice/Swamp/Jungle/Forest/Caustic)

-About 4-5 Weather conditions (Sunny/Rain/Snow/Monsoon/Hurricane/London Fog/Lightning Storm (******* with you lowlight))

-Night/Day/Dawn

-Low/Normal/High Gravity

Now, how many combinations can you make of those?

Low gravity night canyon map with heavy fog where all movement is increase by 50% and jumpjets makes you fly.

I presume you want a Permutational number, not a Combinational one?

3 maps/enviro

Minimums:
5 environments
4 weather
3 light conditions
3 gravity

5*4*3*3 = 180 maps or 36 maps/environment

Maximums:
10 environments
5 weather
3 light conditions
3 gravity

10*5*3*3 = 450 maps, or 45 maps/environment

I know your question was mostly rhetorical, but I still figured I'd answer it. ;)
