As a 3L pilot, after a few runs with narc and 1 ton of ammo, I can't justify the use of the tonnage for narc. I score lower with narc than without. By the time I'm able to get into position, throw out a narc, retreat and shake any followers the timer is close to expiry. This gives me no time to alert my team which enemy was narc'd. Yes, I know there is the icon, but I don't think that is as helpful in practice as calling out targets. Is anyone actually playing with these things when testing on the developer side? If so, how do you justify using this equipment?

Narc Still Sucks

narc is only ever going to be useful if it provided a homing point for missiles w/o a lock

Or if they actually balance the numbers to make it not 100% inferior to TAG.
One can dream I suppose.....*sigh*

The NARC currently provides an observerless spotter for a target, even through ECM now, right?
That has the potential for utility, if you have enough LRMs on your team.
Narc a target, and let your team unload a few hundred LRM's at him. If they hit at the same time, that mech is gonna be in for some pain.

Good luck with that.
