5mins into a game, and crashes to desktop, not cool...not cool :)

I’m experiencing same kind of problems and it seems to me that they are DNS related. I’ve been able to play only 3 games out of 15.Then I ran tracert:

Then I flushed Windows DNS cache by running this command from the command line: ipconfig /flushdns. After that tracert said this:

And I’ve been able to play 5 matches in a row. But during the 6-th match the game crashed back to the mechlab.
Then I’ve tried running tracert once again and got the following:

Flushing DNS cache did not help this time, still all the same. The game crashes to the mechlab every time just before the mechs’ startup sequence in the beginning of the match.

For some reason I get weird results when I run the ping command all the time (with any of the routs listed above):

But it does not seem to matter.

P.S. By the way, there is a whole thread on this forum mostly dedicated to the problems with that hop: border1.te7-1-bbnet1.tor001.pnap.net.

Last night I crashed to mechlab almost every game with a group I was playing with and teamspeak 3 running. I tied later with no changes running PUG games and I went 5 games in a row with no crash to mech lab due to Malformed packet in Omnicon file. Then thought I was on to something until I played 1 PUG game this morning. Crashed about 2 min to mechlab same error. Played WWIIONLINE for awhile last night and no issues with connection visible. Something is funky with this patch.

  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which? - Yes. Windows crash error code 0xc0000374 - heap corruption error.
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur? - Mid combat, when attempting to fire my(destroyed) SRM6+Artemis.
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring? - Battled.
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps? - No. This is the 2nd time it has occured. First was during the startup sequence.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch? - Very High. No changes.
  • What are your System specs?

Does anyone else get the voice chat lag at the same time you're getting the in-game lag? It clears up for me the moment I exit a match, but it causes me to be booted from TS over and over while I'm in a match. This does not happen with numerous other online games I tested, including when my wife was playing concurrently.

Looks like I'm getting the malformed packets too. This has been happening about 1 in 8 games for me for the last week. Happens at map load or random times during game. It does seem to happen more often during chaotic fights, but there would be a lot more packets being sent at that time, so probably just probability theory there. I also deleted my shader cache and this did nothing.

Level forestcolony_snow does not support Conquest gamerules.

A couple of people that I play with are having a similar problem
Omicron.log says this:
CGameRules::OnDisconnect: Client has disconnected: cause=eDC_ProtocolError, desc=Remote disconnected: Malformed packet

My question to everyone having problems are you Running antivirus software while playing the game? If so what? and what hardware do you have between the computer and modem? Just wondering if it could be hardware specific.

I use MSE, but shutting it down made no difference. I just have a router between the modem and computer. I don't *think* mine is hardware related.

Since the Patch introducing the Misery Hero Mech, I have the following problem:

First Match runs totally normal, but after the first match there is a high chance that my computer will simply reboot once I hit the launch button and the game switchs from windowed to fullscreen.

Sometimes I can play 2-3 games sometimes I'm just able to play once.
The problem even presits when I relaunch the game after the first session:

Play one game > normal

Relaunch game > try another game > reboot...

totally anoying...

I have not gotten any CTD's in at least a month and a half, maybe 2. Since Tuesday's patch I have had a couple. The game just quits in the middle of a match, no errors, no dumps. The file verifier did not find any errors, and I have reinstalled my graphics drivers but just got another crash. Is there anything like an INI/config parameter that will force a dump if the game crashes like this?

Please see the main thread about the malformed packet issue for answers to those questions. Short answer: Nope. Not relevant.

I keep getting crashes when exiting a match after it ended. People start leaving, I hit the exit button, and am greeted with the usual Windows WTF window (Application MechWarrior Online stopped responding, etc.). This happens fairly often, every 20 games or so. The game is stable otherwise. Specs:

I was having the same issue until I Excluded the MWO game files from Real Time Scanning on my AV.

I use MSE.

Once I did this and restarted my PC; I have no disconnects. Not certain it is a fix, but I can confirm that I have been able to drop 6 matches without issue. This is after 2 days of not completing a single drop (about 50 attempts).

This did not resolve the issue. I was able to play several games, however; the disconnects have returned.

Numerous CTD's upon launch to match. Seems to be hitting when it goes to the black screen. Doesn't appear to have much to do with time played, since several happened on first or second match in. CPU and Vid Card running slightly warmer than pre-patch, but still well in the green.

Ping has more than tripled to 350, have had a few graphics drops with FPS but nothing major, don't know if the increase is related to same optimization that caused the rubberbanding a month ago but I also had that.

system specks windows 7 64 bit Intel i5-3570 nividia gtx550ti (tried with and without AV no change, repair tool no errors, drivers up to date )


EDIT: sry was meant for the connection feedback not crash (but after I posted in here did have crashes but assumed was related to higher ping and connection lost )

These crashes to desktop and blackscreens need to be gone now and forever.

Stability issues with this game have drove the majority away, and forever.

i know 250 members that are not coming back ever.

Hi Guys,

Started playing today with the new patch, played 10 games. they all crashed mid-game, about 5 minutes in. Black screen and then back to mechlab. Never happened to me before the patch. I'm running a stable connection all the time, my pc is top notch so no problems there. This one is patch related, so plz fix.

@Offtopic, also my founders tag is no longer showing in-game, plz check out the other treads.

6 games today and all crashed. Black screen then back to mechlab. Sometimes the game will play for a few minutes then crash, other times it will crash before the game starts.

The game was stable before the patch, this needs to be fixed.
