Too Far With The Lrms

I know the patch has just been released and players might change their behaviour. But I'll only check in a few times to see whether they have. I'm getting ripped apart in pretty much every match, whereas until today I did pretty well. Maybe the ELO system has changed (this would explain the frustrating matches), but it appears I'm getting bombarded with LRMs from mechs I can't see. With no HUD indication of the direction of the LRMs, hiding is a guessing game. By looking up in the sky I might spot their direction, but the LRM speed makes this problematic. A few matches ago I hugged the wrecked ship in Forest Colony and still got hit by every missile. Since I much enjoy playing brawlers and lights, this has been a rather disheartening experience. To clarify, I'm not trying to force my will, but I'm trying to convey that my enjoyment of the game has simply vanished by playing a few matches, something I never expected. I'm sure you guys aren't aiming for this effect, I heard Amid talk very confidently of these changes on NGNG. But at least for me the changes have the opposite effect, so I thought I'd let you know.
That said, the new map looks neat! (I just wish I could explore more of it instead of seeing the hill textures up close while suffering the rains of steel

I drive 60xLRM AWS-8R after patch, and still have 1-st place on DMG and kills.
But before patch forum crying "wwwwaaaaa~ LRM ARE SUSKC! PPC TOO STORNG!!! wwwaaaaa~ i cant play~".
I think u all (who crying on forum) just don't know how to play, u will stop crying only if all mechs will have 1 alpha dmg.
Use cover, AMS, ECM, PPC, ERPPC, close range, u have many things agains LRM, just stop crying.

All i really want is an statement from PGI that they understand the issue and a timeline for a hotfix.
And what is it like when there are nothing but ppc/guass alpha mechs just waiting around to one shot you. I'm pretty confident I had to use constant cover then as well.

I've played a match on forest colony that last 15 minutes. Every team was on his side of the map firering LRM or PPC. Once i get bored, i pushed a little on the map and i get vaporized by a LRM rain falling almost vertically on me.

Why are you being so mean? Please accept that some people enjoyed the game before the patch, and now they don't. You're not better for not minding the patch, you're actively booing fellow players away. Poor form.

Just so you know, this is where a lot of people just stop reading. Have you ever actually tried to use LRMs effectively and as a main part of your build? I'm not even talking about boating here, I'm talking about using a couple of LRM 15s as your main armament.
Before today, they were damned hard to use well. Now they're merely difficult, but they're still harder to use than almost every other weapon out there.
Honestly, the whole "all you have to do is lock on and faceroll" thing just makes me laugh.
-- Edit --
I agree with a lot of others here that the problem isn't with missiles, it's with pilots being clueless. I think because they sucked for so long, people stopped using them and then they just got lazy. I've played 5 matches now where multiple assaults were playing like they needed helmets. I'm serious, they were window-lickingly slow to respond to missile threats. Of course they're going to think LRMs are overpowered.
Honestly, I'm in a TBT-5J with 5 medium lasers and a single LRM 15. I've gotten 2 or 3 kills each match just because the guy on the other end didn't even bother to move through 4 or 5 salvos. If you've had an incoming missile warning for 8 or 9 seconds and you're still standing there, it's not my skill or overpowered LRMs that's killing you. It's just natural selection.

Yeah right. Try running a light mech now and see how "lightly hit" you get when they nail you with lrms. You're dead in one volley, forget about it.

What's funny is that you actually need less cover with LRMs than with the other weapons. If you break cover and there's a PPC stalker out there, then you instantly get pinged for 60 damage. If it's an LRM stalker, however, you've got a bonus 5 or 6 seconds to save yourself.

I can LRMing at some Ligths for hours and they dont die, But if they are in the Open and playing Resting Party i can get em, as usual. Only Slow Mechs seem to have a Hard Time by Escaping the LRMs, but this looks realistic to me.
For myself, i dont have much Problems to avoid LRMs, So i guess its only a Matter of Time till Pilots come back in Training at avvoiding LRMs again. and if i meet a Team wich remember the Tactics to avoid LRMs and uses them, my DMG goes down much, Looks good.
Atm are much LRM Boats in the Game, so it may seem that you die in seconds to LRMs, but you would die in seconds to any Mechs fireing concentrated at you. To bring an Atlas dow i had to fire so often that he easyly could anhilate me. Looks fair.
I realzied that the LRMs now hitting all over the entry Mech, but more are now hitting in all. Even with Atremis and Tag they dont concentrate exclusivly on the Torsos, wich looks nice for me.

I agree on the arc, something can change there but saying you cannot hide from it isn't true! The maps provide cover overall and combine it with AMS and it's somewhat better. (Again yes the missle arc is somehwat tomuch) Running around alone with a single AMS isn't enough. You want to stay together and let multiple AMS work.
As of the fact that there are SOMANY LRM's at the moment and it clouds the sun, well thats because its new and every1 does it, give it a couple of days and you will start to see changes. Also what happend to brawling? I love my CTF's a lot more now because when i get close to these LRMboats they have an issue... i haven't killed somany Stalkers in 1 night as tonight.
I hated the jumpsnipers. That was to easy to fire 3 ER PPC's and a gauss down range and pretty much destroy the enemy before they got to close. This is still a valid build and ppl will still run it as it is part of the game but i really think with the new LRM setup there is a chance for you to suppress them and get close. This will require teamwork and that is not always a given in "pug matches" i know but then again we will live and we will find ways to keep it going.
Come to think of it. We have modules like Target Decay which helps a great deal as well to get away from missle locks. Just get out of line of sight and thus hide. This brings me to the Lights, they are fast and can do just that! Lights are being used as killers while i think they should help scout and pick targets for the long range... heck they even buffed NARC and TAG (some patches ago) to make it more usefull.
And I think 1 LRMboat cannot deal the same about of Alphastrike dmg as a 3D jumpsniper! let alone the Highlanders!
In the end i think that this will need some time to let the dust settle and see more variety on the battlefield because before this patch ppl where laughed in their faces when they used LRM's and they where NOT effective. Our jumpsnipers just ignored them and blasted you into a pile of ash.

And ppc/gauss alpha mechs needed a tweak then like lrm do now. with the increase damage, speed and flight path it is almost impossible to avoid them unless you stand still in cover (lots of fun).
PGI has previously stated that mechs are dying too fast. It does not seem like they put much thought or testing into their changes. LRM should have been incrementally adjusted. Increase flight speed and see what happens. If this is not sufficient then increase damage and see what happens. All at once and something gets broken.
