It seems totally silly to me that these things do nothing for you. It can't possibly be a deliberate design decision, can it?

Is there some doubt that they contribute positively to the team? They can not only win matches, but change the outcome of individual skirmishes on the battlefield.

There has to be more to support-style play than landing NARCs.

People yell at me for even trying to capture the enemy base because they get more by pretending it's deathmatch, but that's another issue...
