By the way, do any of us understand how this works well enough to get why this is happening only on the hunchback? Seems really odd that it would only be taking place on one mech.

Nobody?

According to Omid, the problem originally was related to the position-shift of Hunchback Pilot Perspectives in the Cockpit, and that's why it was specific to Hunchbacks. They performed an initial fix which resolved the majority of inaccuracy, but a small remnant remains.

The Devs are aware of it, but they might not put this as a high-priority fix owing to all they are working on right now. I mean they fixed 90% of it in, like, 24 hrs once the Dev Staff got wind of it, and then got it into the Patch cycle very quickly. If fixing the rest of it requires a deep investigation, then it might take back-seat to more important Game Launch-related works.

I just performed an additional test using the Reticule's Range Finder to determine the actual point of aim and to see how it matched up with the crosshairs.

The Developers have fixed the problem of the HUD's crosshairs/reticule drifting to the North in Hunchbacks. HOWEVER, the actual point-of-aim was not fixed and the true Point-of-Aim still drifts to the North.

I took some pictures to illustrate, using the Range Finder to show where the Actual point of aim is. I stood 190 meters away from a Target Mech. In the top picture you'll see that the reticule can be pointing directly at the end of Mech's Arm, but the Range Finder says that you're pointing off into the distance, just a few meters North of your target. In the lower Picture, while pointing several meters south of the actual target, the Range Finder says that the weapons are actually trained on the Target Mech.

You can see in the top picture that I have the tip of the Commando's missile launcher in the middle of the circle, and the cross hairs are inside the bracket. In the lower pic, the cross hairs are pointed outside the bracket, completely.

So, the cross hairs don't drift north anymore, but the Point-of-Aim still does. :)

It appears that the magnitude of inaccuracy does not vary as a function of how distant your weapons are pointing; if it's 2 meters off @ a range of 100m, it'll still be about 2m off @ 500m range. The only variable that affects the magnitude of inaccuracy is the cardinal direction.

I hope the Devs might be able to fix it, knowing now what they learned from fixing the HUD drift, and possibly applying it to the Point-of-Aim.
