Well... I Was Having Fun In Your Game.

It's like an entire map full of snipers that don't have to have LOS. 100 ton war machines shouldn't be hiding behind rocks and gingerly poking their heads out of holes like little bunnies to see if it's clear enough to move to the next pillar.
On the plus side; lights are now very useful again. Afterall someone needs to dash forward and target so you can kill that atlas in 2.6 seconds as he gets hit by 52 rockets.
The vast majority of cover is pointless now as the rockets seem to come straight down and for the record duel AMS don't do **** when you have 3 people firing 2x LRM20 at you.
I was about to buy some MC for a shiney new atlas... glad i waited.
See you next patch... assuming nothing else catches my interest in the mean time.
P.S.
Yes i'm aware i'm being a whiny ***** lol. I really enjoy(ed) this game and want to keep playing it but it's just not fun in it's current state.

- how many LRM boats your team has
- how few worthless BlackJacks you have
Maybe I'll try getting on my brawler Atlas and defending my team's LRM boats by ... standing near them

YES, there is an issue where if you have indirect line of sight (your buddy can see them but not you) then the missle pathing is too extreme.
YES, apparantly there is still some kind of issue with splash damage.
BUT - I'm yet to see any of these issues having a massive impact in-game. Sorry.

I think I've died once to them? Maybe? The few times I've gotten rained on it was definitely my fault though. LRMs aren't really all that bad, people are just bad at engaging properly. I suspect the same guys complaining about LRMs are the same ones that think PPCs are thermo-nuclear death cannons. Do both systems need some tweaking? Yup. Are they as bad as people think? Nope.
The only thing that's really happened is that all the bad players that used to use LRMs ran to PPCs since LRMs weren't any good. Now that LRMs are useable all those bad players ran right back to what they used to use. LRMs will always be a crutch for people with bad positioning and bad aim. That part will never go away.
Note: I realize there are good players that rock LRMs and there is an art to using them well. I'm just saying that LRMs tend to be favored by bads because they don't need to actually aim to do damage.

But reading through the ragequit posts about people whining over how many LRMs a team has.. is sweet vengeful music to my ears after MONTHS and I do mean MONTHS of LRMs being completely useless, and the win being dictated by how many PPC Stalkers and Highlander Jumpsnipers you have, and how many hunchbacks you don't..
LRMs need to have a presence in the game.. and not just a token space-filler. Just because LRMs became popular again doesn't mean the game is less fun, it just means that the game no longer exclusively favors ranged high alpha direct-fire builds. (If that is your idea of fun, I think Hawken is more for you...)

At the end of the Command Chair posting is a link to a dedicated feedback thread for this specific issue. I am going to close this topic for now, since it seems to have been generated without the foreknowledge of the unintentional issues covered in the Command Chair post, and request that the discussion be brought through the Command Chair article and to its dedicated thread.
