I am getting kind of used to epic buyers remorse, having dropped ... well, hundreds into this game so far. Mostly due to the lack of documentation and unlocking 'three chassis' then realizing it had to be the SAME chassis then kind of wanting to quit playing but realizing I'm addicted to the franchise and am a total sucker / *********. :< Although I'm sure most people reading this share my addiction to giant robots shooting laserbeams and dakkadakkadakka, uh. Sorry.

So. I did my math. I hate gauss. So I swapped it out. The Ultra AC/5 made sense, it does slightly less damage than the AC/20 in slightly more time, the other AC's just don't compete at all. Now I'm broke because first thing I had to do was swap a heap of stuff out (when I buy a hero mech, let alone one that costs $30-40 OF REAL MONEY I shouldn't have to swap stuff out, but the crappy substandard engine and medium lasers and ... well, the whole build is crud, we buy the chassis to unlock stuff because we are forced to (smart money making move!) and because of bonuses, let's face it) including the crud engine that it came with. So I had enough dosh to only get this right once. So I spent another half an hour reading up, playing in the smurf mechlab, etc. UAC5 still makes sense, seems like a good compensation for the other AC's bar 20's sucking and the more shells delivering means one miss doesn't mean 20 damage lost.

I fit it. I go to the training grounds. I set up my macros. Dakkadakkadaclickclick. Wtf? Two rounds and it's ... jammed? JAMMED? WTF IS A JAM? Ok, it's gone. Dakkaclickclick. ... wait. Dakkaclick. I am not even exagerating (I wish I was!) it jammed on me probably 30-40% of the time. Not one every ten shots. Not once every magazine. Not once every ten thousand rounds like real firearms do. EVERY THIRD SHOT WAS A JAM.

What the crap guys? Seriously? So anyway, I now start searching up this problem. Turns out a lot of angry, angry users are complaining about it. Add me to that posse. The thing is, most are placated by the fact their UAC5's now work if they put it in a group that's set to chain fire. COOL BUT I'M NOT IN A JAGGERMECH. I paid $30-40 bucks for a stupid ugly fake-battle damaged Stalker and because of that I have a broken gun that cost me 1/4 the price of my stupid engine replacement I had to swap in? Great.

So needless to say I spent the next half hour raging angrily. In fact, I even had a hissy fit on Twitter, which when you're dealing with gamers with reasonably large followings (@bashpr0mpt, add me, you know you want to) is really bad PR for a company, especially when they've been fanboys of the franchise since pre-puberty (Ssh, ok, so that was last week! Nah, I'm talking late 80's here TT.) who has also invested far more money than he has into any game or game franchise in his gaming history yet has had consequtive buyers remorse after almost every purchase (1,200 camo not being for all mechs, colors and camo being redundant given we don't know what map is next and have a 2 in 3 chance of sticking out like dogs balls, engines, hero mechs in general, and oh god misery) it's really, really not a good thing.

I mean sure, I'm just another nerd raging git on the forums having a bawwfit. But this is becoming a regular thing, there are two kinds of posts now. Blind sycophancy (dictionary if you're raising an eyebrow, it is a word that sums up most fanboys thoroughly) or angry nerdrage. That's a kind of polarization no gaming company should have, yet a clear indication that our tweets are falling on deaf ears (which is bad when my tweets are reaching almost 60,000 high consumption tech / game users, god knows how many others are seeing this and making mental notes not to pick up when this game goes live; but don't even get me started on paid alphas where once they have your money why rush to deliver a product, right?) but come on. This problem is ridiculous. I'm sure every Misery owner who can use a calculator or do math in their head has burnt 400,000 cbills on a stupid UAC5 only to find it is USELESS if shot as a stand alone weapon.

Why can't I fire my UAC5? I don't want the extra shot, in fact, I think that's cheating. Remove it and remove that stupid jam mechanic, PLEASE? Or in the meantime if someone has written a script, or knows a work around, I have honestly searched this site for a good ten minutes on the throne out of boredom but idk if this is an indictment against the search function or what I cannot find a timely UAC5 work around reference that:

1. works,
2. was released or written recently,
3. applies to the problem Misery owners are having.

Has ANY other Misery owner fixed this stuff? Atm my Misery will be on the shelf, in fact MWO will be on the shelf until next patch in hopes they fix a lot of the terrible problems this game is suffering. But I'm sure they won't miss my $40-50 a day, other suckers will fall into line. I can only hope a player saves me, because it's clear the devs have left us high and dry.

You've been playing since May 4th, and you've dropped hundreds into this game? ... yeah...

By the way, this belongs in either "New Player Help" or "Feature Suggestions", not in Support.

The U-AC/5 does 10% more DPS when the button is mashed down and the double taps are aloud to fire even though it jams. the trade-off is that it works kind of like an extra crit gun in that sometimes it jams after the first shot and sometimes you get a streak of 20 shots. If you still don't want the extra 10% damage overall you can single tap it every 1.1 seconds or if you have a keyboard with a macro you could add a 1100ms delay between taps. If you use Autohotkey you'd need a macro something like this (which is here in these forums) http://mwomercs.com/...ohotkey-macros/

This isn't a Misery problem, or a bug. The Ultra AC/5 is designed to have a chance to jam if double-shot. It will only fire the second shot if the fire button is held. If you tap to fire it, and wait the 1.1 seconds for the cooldown, it will never jam on you. It works this way on all Mechs and all loadouts. The Jagers work around it by using chainfire: With enough Ultras in a group, the chain will prevent the double-shot from occurring (in theory). You can do this on anything with enough ballistic slots, like Cataphracts.

The jam mechanic is there as a risk/reward scenario: if you need to put out the DPS, you can hold it down and fire the double-shot, risking a possible jam. If you wait for the cooldown, no jams. It gives a bit of flexibility in the weapon. People using macros or chainfire don't get this option, they only get the normal, single-shot functionality.

There's talk of the mechanic being changed so that holding it down single-fires, and tapping twice double-fires and risks the jam. I like this better personally, but we'll see if it gets implemented for real.

Hope that helps. I know weapon documentation is somewhat lacking...
