First off I wanted to tell the people at PGI GOOD JOB!! You have revitalized a dying franchise. You have done a wonderful job so far considering your hardships. This most recent patch really polished the game. The LRM issue was caught and reported on by PGI in under 1 day! That's excellent! The game feels very good, almost everything is in balance. I know people will complain no matter what but I felt the need to be constructive and praise a group of individuals who have truly made a great game.
The new map.... I'm gob smacked... It is gorgeous, textures are amazingly defined and the map seems to be very well designed. There are positions for sniping, supporting and brawling. This map for me has quickly become my favorite.
In ending, PGI keep up the good work, ignore the naysayers and haters. I find most of them get upset because they can't adapt or adjust. They simply want the way they play the game to be buffed or superior. Right now whether I am brawling, supporting or sniping it all feels in balance.
I look forward to seeing your new content and patches.
MekShred
P.S. If you are going to reply, I am open to counter arguments provided it is constructive. Do not post just to flame or hate. I want to see this game go far and have a fully revitalized franchise with more games to come.

Alright, yes - I enjoy MWO. However, I can't let this comment go, because it's one of the most toxic ideas in the community. Are there balance issues in the game? Yes. Should we want them fixed? Of course. The catch-all "L2adapt" doesn't help that and has been used to oppose every good balance change ever made to this game.
We always adapt, that much is given. We adapted to the peaks and valleys of LRM damage, to ECM implementation, to boating, to everything. The question we should actually consider is "now that we have adapted, are we better off?"

I am in agreement with you 100%.
Good post, very refreshing to see.
Yes, LRM flight path is off, Yes they found it and are/will fix.
Like yourself, i think this is one of the BEST patches released in some time.
The folks there seem to be again headed in the right direction.
I hope they see your post. This kind of reinforcement ALWAYS helps.

This means less money for PGI, and less lifetime for MWO.
The better option is to include playstyles for people who want to use a wide variety of things and have them be competetive, therefore balance and fun come to the largest number of players.

How is it 'toxic'? The OP did not say for everyone to, how was it you said, "L2adapt", he said he did.
Everyone has opinions, and you are entitled to yours as well, and I respect that.
You asked '"now that we have adapted, are we better off?" - my OPINION on that is yes. Made ME a better player. I feel I can overcome many things in the game when my first thoughts were 'wtf is going on here?'. I adapted, i overcame and I, for one, am a better player for it. i suspect many others are too.
Whether we agree or not, the game is still 'beta', albeit 'open beta', meaning there will be bugs and changes. Report the bugs, respectfully and constructively report and post issues. That is ALSO part of the game, as is adapting.
The OP likes the changes and the recent patch. His opinion. I respect his opinion too and stated so, as did I for your opinion. I just happen to agree more with his take.
Enjoy the game, I do.

Thing is, the game is still in a Beta state.
Players need to be vocal now, very much so. They need to be passionate, and picky, and call favorites. This is what PGI needs to hear to make the game as good as it could be.
Yes, maybe things are pretty good now. But responding to player-base feedback, they could make it better.
We're all good at adapting. A lot of us have been gaming since long before communication was this easy, and before the concept of "open public beta" was a possibility. We've all loved games that have been so buggy, it hurt a little.
PC players created community-developed mods and patches. Console gamers tried to isolate the worst releases, or find work-arounds.
We all are really, really good at adapting.
This game is not done yet, however. This game is still developing, and until then, we need to speak, not adapt.
There are many people on this forums with opinions I do not share. However, I applaud all of them for getting on here and voicing their opinions, and for arguing with me. These arguments need to be had, and these opinions seen, so the Devs can see what we think, and see what direction the opinions are going.
I love that you love the game. We do, too. That's why we can't just be quiet.

Good question, but I have an answer. Saying you think the game is balanced is fine. Saying that is isn't is fine too. We want to have a good dialogue. Saying the people who don't "want the way they play the game to be buffed or superior" dismisses legitimate concerns as selfish whining, and that's not OK.

To clarify about the "l2play" I was only referring to my own experience, as stated. I would never tell someone to learn to play.
I do agree that we need to inform PGI, as Zraven7 pointed out

But you can easily and clearly describe your likes and dislikes to PGI in a constructive manner. I find many of the posts in this forum often lay blame or are angry. I personally do not feel that PGI deserves such posts. They are providing us with (in my opinion) the best free to play game I have ever played. I praise them. I have paid much more for much worse.
My goal with this post was to create some positive feelings for PGI. I'm sure it must be frustrating to PGI to receive mostly negative feedback or "flame" posts.
Keep up the good work PGI!

This is my personal feelings on this matter. I feel that whether you are a scout, a heavy brawler or a assualt commander the rewards for fulfilling your roll should be the same across the board. At the moment there is no roll for a medium mech. I feel the game imbalances are more around mech customization then weapons at the moment.
The Blackjack for instance is slow (except for one variant) and does not support many weapons. Overall this makes it a slow and under gunned for most matches. In my opinion weapons are quite nearly where they need to be, maybe a few minor tweaks. I think the next focus should be mechs.
Back to the Blackjack I find it difficult to accept that a Awesome (with the largest allowable engine) will outrun a Blackjack (also with the largest allowable engine).

I am really hoping to have a single player campaign game released from PGI in the future. This game has about the best mech "feel" that I have seen. I've been playing Mechwarrior since it came to dos in the form of Mechwarrior

Frost, you and I agree along many paths. Respectful replies on your part. Good dialogue is good stuff.

I consider myself a medium mech pilot. I own two blackjacks, a treb, and a centurion. The only other mech i own is a raven 3L. But i totally disagree with you. I feel medium mechs is where true pilot shine. yes we cant do everything as well as other mechs but thats what i luv about it. thought... i think our mech profile size should be smaller compared to heavies and assualts. my treb is taller then a stalker.

@Reith Dynamis
I do believe you have to be a good pilot to do well in a medium mech. I salute you for playing the way you want to play!!
