lets assume for a second that Piranha would be inclined to talk to the license holders about licensing these unseen mechs for MWO. more than likely if they were able to secure such licensing agreements that these mechs would more than likely cost a premium to use.

while we are assuming that there may be a slight chance that these things could happen, and assuming hypothetically that they did happen, would you be willing to shell out hard cash for rights to pilot one of the unseen mechs?

No thanks. I want my BattleMechs to be pure Battletech and not robotech knockoffs.

Unseen? NO WAY! I'm not buying anything unless I can see it first! :)

Speaking of that, does the Artemis controller fall into the "Unseen" category? lol

The issue is that this could be considered as 'selling power'. Even if the unseen mechs were balanced as to be near perfectly equal to mechs similar to them, if they had even one variant which could not be matched by a non-paying customer it would be considered privileging paying customers over non-paying from a gameplay perspective. Aka, not good.

I would still do it, admittedly, I'm just saying it's not a good idea.

They could say whatever they wanted and i would not care one little bit if i could just get my Marauder/Warhammer/Battlemaster! In this case i would gladly "buy power".

Your poll is missing a certain response:
"No. I would not send Harmony Gold a penny, regardless of what it bought me."

It isn't that we are afraid to spend money on the game; some of us just really have no desire to help make Harmony Gold any more money off of this than they already have.

Also, another possible response I would choose:
"No. I would rather see Alex Iglesias come up with his own version of these mechs."

I chose option 4, but my real answer is I am not so attached to them that I would pay any extra for them compared to non-unseens.

I LOVE robotech ! I think the universe goes well with BT and most of all : The design of the mechs is 10 times better than the BT originals, which, let's face it, ranged from average to plain ugly...

So I'd really like to be able to play them, but to pay for all of them...That would be pushing it a little. :)

IF they were FD's designs and HG wasn't getting a thin red cent for their use, nor could they create legal trouble over it, then I would have no trouble giving PGI money for unseen/reseens.

Maybe. "Warhammer" cool. Looks like a titan of the "Warhammer 40k".

You have decided to create his "MWO" with blackjack and hookers?

Is the Stone Rhino one of the unseen..? This forum has progressively led me to realize how very little lore I know regarding history in this game universe. If so, probably.. any mech that doubles as a battering ram has my attention.

yes it is, though there is some uncertainty as to why. sarna claims it is due to macross, though it shares vauge similarity with the destoid it is claimed to copy. others have said it is one of the designs contracted out that was unseen "just in case"

basically i would buy a special design, if there is no other way and they are for a reasonable price... don´t want to see prices like APB-Reloaded has, say for a single item 50 bucks and much more...

Generally spoken, i hope it´s not nescessary, or they won´t be out of balance with other chassis. Mh, if thats the only way to get a WHM for example... gosh i would buy it :)
I even throwed my precious money at EA in NFS: World, what i clearly said i wouldn´t do...but then they implemented the Audi Quattro 20V...

Depends on cost.
I would probably pay $20-$30 apiece for a Phoenix Hawk, Shadow Hawk, Griffin, Rifleman, Thunderbolt, Warhammer, Marauder, Battlemaster. But I doubt those terms would be adequate to the license holder (better to make nothing at all for the last 10 years and wait for someone to slip up so you can sue them)

I would actually go $60 for a Rifleman,
