Arm mounted cannons, torso lasers, non-XL engines and solid amounts of armor with case. Zombie it up. Yes, Enforcers and Centurions are on my favorites list. Hunchies are fun, but I prefer some of the downgunned variants. Hunchie with LB10x, 3 tons ammo, max armor and MPLs is a nice field fit for me.

I'm gauss rifles fan a lot (thunder hawk anyone?)

But apart from that i prefer any balanced configuration, like catapult, you can fire missiles at long range, then switch to lasers while close, and still jump with no heat problems.

And Arrow IV could be fun if they add it :-)

Looking into the future I see the CPLT-C2 and realize that I could swap out the default load out for 2 Light Gauss Rifles, 4 tons of ammo, a C3 Slave unit after getting Ferro-fiberous, and returning the Engine from an XL to a standard (This might not be necessary and in fact without it I save tonnage and criticals that can be used for an iC3 and a ECM suite.) I mean the Catapult already has an Energy Direct fire support variant. Why not have a Ballistic one as well. I do like my specialty 'Mechs. Gogo ballistic hard points this round.

I like PPCs and Gauss Rifles. 3 - 4 in a mix and match combo.

But it really comes down to how they are implemented in the game. Super-long cycle times could make that impractical, so we'll see what they come up with.

Lots of missiles with some beams. SRMs are my go-to weapon, but I don't expect them to release a Mech that can hold the equivalent of an SRM60 any time soon.

I like my 'Mechs to carry all three types of hardpoints. I'm all for versatility... I like to run with an AC-10, a SRM-4 or -6 and a couple of M-lasers. If a 'Mech comes with only two types of hardpoints one of them has to be beam/energy, I don't want to find myself bar naked in the midst of a heated engagement... at least if this engagement is on the battlefield :P

Depends for me.

My main TT mechs tended to have a good range of energy and ballistic weapons. I liked having options.

I had a dual MRM-40 boat for when I felt silly and wanted to annoy my friends.

I liked to make variations on this mech: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Piranha

Ballistics. Lots of ballistics hard points. Why? AC/20's and Heavy Gauss Rifles.

Seriously though, i love auto cannons. I love playing Davion for this reason. Also because I dont like dealing with heat. Heat is normally a non issue when it comes to AC's.
