IT'S NOT AN IDEA. This thread is not to recommend lowering weight. It is only to point out that even if we did, they still wouldn't be great, so clearly they are not balanced now. You are being incredibly dense on this. Either it is because you just are dense, or you have just gotten way too personally involved with me.

I can't put it any other way, changing the weight of the weapon down to standard laser weight is ******* dumb.
It's ******* dumb.

Anyway, it really does feel like the extra weight is an added kick in the gut that the LPL in particular doesn't need. I had some fun running around with 4 on an Atlas with a 350 engine, but with the extra weight I wasn't really able to add anything else without making it too hot to brawl (which is basically all the range makes it good for). Speedy damage output was nice, but I can run about the same heat levels with 4LL and a gauss... so clearly one of these things is better than the other.

Otherwise, I doubt they'd ever suit my needs on most mech builds I see in play.

Personally I agree with lowering Pulse Laser weight. It is much better solution than buffing other aspects of it. I will use it on only some of my mechs even then.
