Only a few days after LRMpocalypse 4 started, where the cheesers switched over enmasse to take advantage, they've switched back to high alpha PPC boats after a 'timely hot fix'.

Gee, I love having my mech just explode with little warning. Much better than having a lick of a chance where I can bring equipment to mitigate the worst of the LRM excesses.

I mean... think of the sparks! Why won't someone think of the sparks?

Well PGI did. So thank you PGI. Job well done!

No **** - add to that its on top of the laser precision jump sniping platform so you usually cant even shoot back at them. So much fun - NOT.

My ravens been experiencing this quite a bit. Set up on a nice, quiet hill to start tagging... Boom 3 PPC and a gause through the CT. Didn't even have a chance to move to cover.

Well, all the baddies kept suggesting that players should adapt to every broken thing, so people are "adapting" :)

Your problem is in your own post and its not the PPC Gauss combo.

Weeeeell, kind of hard to feel sorry for you when you are standing still in a quiet area, aiding and abetting LRM camping...?

"Under investigation right now:
To curb boating with high alphas... we are testing a system that induces a heat scale when firing multiples of the same weapon within a specific time frame. The more weapons fired of the same type, the higher the scale climbs.

Possible internal damage on certain heat levels of the player's Mech. If you blast past your shutdown threshold and then some, you start to take damage internally.
Investigation items are not locked in and are exactly that... thoughts and tests. Do NOT go flying off the handle about how this won't work or that won't work until we make an official post. It will severely help your blood pressure. :)"

so what were supposed to have 1 of each type of laser and each type of missile on a stalker? This would ruin almost every build in the game currently for a larger mech

Well, it'd finally give people a reason to chain-fire things that aren't AC/2s.
Most of my laser heavy builds already split the lasers up into multiple groups anyways.

I hope some of you also play and not just moan in the forums because what Im seeing there in the combat field is a good mixture of LRMs AND poptarts. And a lot of mediums too because of the tournament. And a lot of lights, too because they know a lot of easy prey mediums are out there.
(I've been killed more often by LRMs since hotfix than by poptarts)

Right at this moment, it feels balanced to me.

Here's a secret pro-tip:
If you are in a light mech, and you are not moving, THEN YOU ARE ABOUT TO DIE.

"set up"? You deserved the death, learn from it. You shouldn't stand still in a light. That isn't advice for when you are fighting, that is advice for all the time.
