Hey guys, I'm a decent prop maker and when i saw this image on the mwo fb page:

Posted Image

I thought I would have been nice to build a pretty big weapon (at least 1 meter long).
I wrote to piranha to tell them what I'd love to do, asking them for a blueprint of a weapon, didn't really care which one.

Never got a reply.
So, I'm turning to the awesome mw community.
Do you guys have blueprints of some of the weapons used in the BT universe?

I'd need top, bottom, side views at least to start a project :)
Thanks for your help!

I'd say you may not need a blueprint as such, just choose a symetrical weapon, the lasers look good, and print the picture. Enlarge the image, then take measurements. I am no expert, but I imagine the size of the picture you measure from will not matter. But larger would be easier.

Hope this helps. :)

Edit: They all look to be symetrical. :D

Yeah, I usually do that, but, taking the weapons on this image, and having to make them 2D it's a pain in the neck :)
What about technical readouts? Any good image there?

the tro's have some color images,, but most of the pics are inks...

I need the exact opposite :) I need to get 3D in 2D. I've done with Iron Man, Magneto, 300 and Dredd for the Helmet, and now I'm doing Thor's Hammer. It can be done but it's long and tedious :D

heh, well, there isn't much in the way of blueprints for those. Those were just kinda proof of concept reference material, i never did turn arounds for them.

The flamer is the only one with high enough res shot to do all the details justice... You could get decent overall shape and some decent level of details off the other concepts though. But perhaps might miss a lot of stuff.

They way I would go about it, just use an orthographic camera set up to 3d model from the 3/4 perspective shot, it's quite an accurate method of translating 3/4 views to a 3d model, Then you can take orthographic images and acquire actual measurements for any part of it once it's done.

I freelance BTW :P

I remember back in the late 90's going to Virtual World: San Diego They had a pretty damn large replica of a PPC... as well as various 'armor' plating that was beat to hell hanging from the ceiling.

It was pretty damn awesome to see, honestly.
