Okay, I can take a ton for my beloved mechs. I can take the game crashing once every 20 times, I can take bugs in the UI, I can take all my friends saying 'it's poorly done, just wait till it ACTUALLY finishes', I can take people playing pop tarts, I can take heat sinks not working like the table top, I can take ECM being op as heck for months before being fixed, I can take LRMs being crap, to good, to crap, to good, to over powered to being restored to good again.

But one thing I can't take?

Crashing over 75% of my games since the patch.

Here's a log to help you out, and YES I've made sure it isn't my ISP, I reinstalled the game and even checked the other threads.

1. Crash to client
2. Crash to client
3. Crash to client
4. Crash to client
5. Play a game to a loss (no problem, least I got to play)
6. Play a game to a win (sweet, go SRM awesome!)
7. Play a game to a win (wow, Cataphract with 2 gauss works, nice)
8. Crash to client
9. Crash to client after saying "hope I don't disconnect, been kinda bad today"
10. Crash to client before I can even TYPE out 'hope I don't disc-'
11. Crash to client after 1 minute 40 seconds
12. Pick a founders Jenner, the other 4 mechs I use a ton are STUCK in game, Crash to desktop anyway. (with 5 mechs red and 'IN GAME' I get frustrated and go play something else hoping it's just clogged servers.)
13. Come back, pick my Dragon-C Crash to client after taking one step.
14. Take Cataphract again, GET A GAME, sweet! (kill 1, my entire team wipes, get nuked, still had fun)
15. Take Cataphract again (Get a game and a win, yay!)
16. Take Cataphract Crash to client
17. Take Awesome Crash to client
18. Take Dragon Crash to client
19. Take Cataphract now that it's out of game, crash to client
20. Take Awesome, asking others in game if they are seeing lots of disconnects, people say yes, and then I crash to client.

I don't mind the game being worked on, it's a beta or whatever was said at times, but please, if the game is TERRIBLY broken and I can't do anything on my end to fix it, and the game is unplayable at this moment, can you either drop EVERYTHING else and fix the game so people that pay for it can play it, or at least allow us to FREEZE our accounts that are ticking down since we can't play no matter what we do.

I really don't want this to come off as a compliant, I know some trolls will just focus on the negative and make themselves look like fools regardless and that's fine, but to Pirahanna can you give us some other option for our counting down premium time other then 'we're aware of the issue.' ?

I activated my founders premium time a month ago, I waited specifically for this 90 days to use because of RL reasons that allow me time to play more then before. And now the game is utterly unplayable on the only 3 day weekend I'll have for a good while.

Can you either fix the game or allow premium users to freeze their time so it's not ticking down when I can't use it whatsoever?

Have you tried the MWO Repair Tool? That should help the crashing, but not necessarily the disconnects.

Having the same issue. Repair tool and full re-install did not solve the problem. Its not actually a crash, if you check the logs is a disconnect not a crash:

Quote

CGameRules::OnDisconnect: Client has disconnected: cause=eDC_ProtocolError, desc=Remote disconnected: Malformed packet
CGameClientChannel::Release

Some kind of packet error. I also tried playing without my firewall and anti-virus up, in case they were blocking something. Same issue. I can only assume there is something wrong on PGI's end, because this issue only started with the latest patch and I checked everything on my end.

Also make sure you submit a ticket too. Posting on the forums is great to find a solution from other players, but PGI needs tickets and data to solve the problem if it is in fact on their end.

Check out the malformed packet thread. There's a solution in there. It involves installing a VPN client. But it's worked for me.

That's what I'm talking about! Good community solutions. But still submit a ticket, because players shouldn't have to run a VPN just to play the game.

Thanks for the tip, Dude42
