Here's the deal: I hate basecap wins. As a new player, it sucks the fun out of the game when I'm in the midst of being killed in a glorious blaze of fire and lead, only to be shut down by either side being better at running in place and avoiding combat.

While I can understand the need for base capping in some regard, as otherwise that one remaining light mech could simply hide forever after all its teammates had died out, causing a time out, I hate the mechanic where it simply ends the match prematurely.

I'd like to posit this suggestion then- a new mode, for me and others like me that want to live or die in combat rather than having a nice long game of mech-hiker online.

A game mode that is essentially a king of the hill match. In mechanics, exactly like conquest- where the base goes back and forth depending on who's inside of the capture radius, and grants resources. But with only one base, that starts out neutral, directly in the middle. Thus everyone is going to the same spot, everyone needs to stay in roughly the same spot, in order to keep resources from going to the opponents, and the resource increment is set slow enough that essentially the only time one should ever win or lose to base cap is when people are being cowards, and hiding away outside of sight for long periods of time.

Possible changes might be only allowing resource gain when the base is fully captured, and increasing the size of the base so there's room to fight inside, and not just around it.

I support this idea.

This game desperately needs more game modes; both simple modes (like this one and the two we already have) as well as robust objective-based game modes that require each team to carry out specific goals before they can win.
