After quite a storm of how op LRMs are right after they got reintroduced and triied out by everyone the LRM flight angle got adjusted. one day later NOONE is using LRMs anymore. it switched back to PPC poptarts as before. alternativly you bring an ac20 or gauss.
- we need SRM damage up, we need LRM damage up.
The concept of clustering missiles to my understanding works like this. missiles do damage and hit where you see they hit. they do splash damage where they hit. the cluster focusses on CT and its radius is reduced by tag, narc artemis and stuff.
Problems with that is that clustering favors CT or from what ever direction you hit the target obviously. ofc you could use a spread pattern which doesnt assign the highest value to the center -> problem with mech sizes. linking damage of auto hit weapons to geometry is a bad idea in general. its hard to debug and balance.
better solution (similar to TT). n of m missiles hit (terrain + random). they hit random locations based on direction of impact. easy to debug. easy to balance. noone will notice the difference.

The Op Lrms Have Been There For One Day.

I am using LRMs just for testing. I don't see any LoS buff from BAP or Artemis. They are more concentrated, but that doesn't confer more damage. You might as well just use indirect fire, but that's not very effective except vs new players. Skilled players won't be hit by LRMs, just players who don't know any better.
I want LRMs that can be used in conjunction with other weapons, not ones that make you run to a hill at the edge of the map to camp.

lrms still do no damage. they decreased the damage to repaire the broken cluster template implementation which had nothing to do with the problem. the cluster is broken, not the old damage.
anyway, its getting slowly better. i like metagame much more when the aws could have bigger engines and srms where a lot deadlier
