Okay,

When HSR for ballistics came in it didn't fix the ballistic tracking 100% but it greatly improved the hit detection from what it was so we we're all happy. However since this last patch the hit detection on ballistic weapons has gotten worse. Close to what it was before HSR came into the game.

Yesterday I went into a match with my Cataphract 2X (3xML, SRM4, Gauss) and 25% of my Gauss rounds that actually hit the target did not register. I've been noticing this for all the auto cannons as well. Mostly from what I can tell it's within the 200M-500M range that it's having issues.

Unlike HSR for energy weapons which seemed to fix them perfectly for everyone ballistics hasn't worked the same. When HSR Energy came in I have not had a single problem with energy weapons not registering the damage.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I've been wondering about it, because suddenly my Jagermech with 2 AC20s doesn't seem to perform all that well any more. Hit a Hunchback, take his RT. Hit him again...

...

and again...

He's still not dead? Strange things like that, and hit detection problems might account for it.

They know about this guys. HSR for ballistics is still a work in progress. what is currently implemented isn't done yet, but it's better than it used to be.

It WAS better than it used to be, now I think it's worse than it was pre-HSR. Don't even bother wasting ammo against lights, it's almost unplayable.

funny when you fire a bad shot way behind a light or clearly hit cover though and it ends up legging/killing them

Since I know you've been one of the one's with the Malformed Packet errors, Butane, I believe that Latency is borked in general with the game at the moment. They've already responded to my personal emails that they believe Latency is the issue revolving around the Malformed Packet issue a lot of us have been having.

They probably have some calculation within the code to utilizes latency in a certain way, or a calculation that's erroring/wrong to determine latency response, and for whatever reason it's causing issues a bit of everywhere. I've personally had the theory that HSR is a lot of the reason for my personal woes - as it was about the time Laser HSR was introduced that I started having many issues with random kick's to mechlab.
