No, it isn't.

But there's a dropship mode where you fill a dropship with four mechs and continue dropping in each of them during the battle. Sort of like a respawn, but in a different mech and with consequences.

Only in certain game types, but unless you have a garage filled with the exact same mechs you won't be using the same mech each spawn. (That's what it sounds like anyway.)

If you lose all four mechs your repair bill is going to be absolutely massive... :D

Does that mean that there will be weapon customization? or do you just get what you get like with the mechwarrior xbox games?

I hope not as well ( other than Drop ship games). If there was no fear of death or repair bills people would play poorly and foolishly. With one life to live per round, it will require considerable skill and planning to survive/win. I for one fully support this.

What he ^ said...

Even the Drop Ship games won't be too bad because if each player has 4 mechs available (or whatever number it turns out to be), he will have to pay the bill to repair the damage of all of them if he plays foolishly.

Hopefully, C-Bills won't be too easy to earn. If they are too easy to get, then there will be extremely wealthy players who will no longer care and will do a lot of stupid stuff just because they think it is hilarious...

I expect the Dropship game to be 3 mechs per.. That would be 1 in each compnay of a Single Battalion(using the logic that the largest Dropship from Old Battletech was teh Overlord which carried 36 mechs).. Now I know that logic and gaming don't always mix. But they are trying to follow the TT game stuff:)

PermaDeath. You die in MW:O you loose all your Mechs/C-bills and have to start over again from the beginning.
