Training Mode

This game is going to eventually have real clan matches, we all know this. I was playing a small indie title by the name of "Guns of Icarus" on steam for awhile and the training/practice mode they implemented was outstanding for training players. You could damage items on the ship, setup targets, enabling your crew to drill for matches and formulate game plans. For MWO, we already have the training map but adding features such as the ones I have discussed would be incredibly helpful to clans and players.

Spectator Mode

In games such as LoL or Dota 2, you can easily spectate a match of one of your clan members or friends, and this has become a great training/learning tool for many.

I agree on training mode. Training mode will likely take the form of private matches, which have been confirmed as coming (with no firm ETA yet for what appear to be numerous reasons, both community and infrastructure based)

But spectator mode is IMO a bad idea.

Imagine a lance of 4 with 4 specs attached

imagine that those 4 specs decide to spec the 4 members of the other lance in your team.

Add TS and you have an unprecedented level of situational awareness.

Imagint the other 4 also being a 4 man w/4 specs and doing the exact same thing.

BAM! Everyone knows everything, nobody needs to rely on thir own sensors or communication anymore, becasue you`Re being spoonfed all the data you could wish for.

It already works this way many times in 4 man premade drops, when the first guy dies he specs someone from the other lance, and gives out targeting and positioning info to the 3 still surviving. Info that, by their own sensors, they would not have

I`m not saying it can`t be made to work, but that it has a massive potential to be exploited

I agree with the addition of a proper training mode. The current one seems hastily improvised; if the point is to test your weapons, weapon groupings, and heat why are you forced to waste time tracking down the targets. If you brought a Spider it's less of an issue but imagine bringing an Atlas and being randomly assigned the Alpine map. We're not there to admire computer-generated scenery!

That is only an advantage if you can spectate on the other team. When I do die, I always spectate one of my members games to help with the learning process. In reality it does not give a huge advantage just spectating a friendly mech. I don't see any possible exploits considering you can't spectate an enemy player.

Yes you are right, this game has an ever evolving complex level of design for players and it is being setup for clan wars. We will need a proper training room.
