You don't say GG in team-based games, however, only when you really mean it and the match was truly equal and enjoyable.
Or did you no play any competitive game since who knows when?

Someone replying to a "GG" with a "No it wasn't/isn't" is just a raging E-peener, similar to the OP.

8-5 is probably the minimum for a game to be considered close.
Sportsmanship? You mean like that shown when a basecap happens?
If it was a close game, but you died early? Now we're testing your sportsmanship …
And this thread is here 'casue it's systemic of how Elo is failing us.

This is called good sportsmanship.
Soccer teams and tennis players for example shake hands after the game, regardless of how one sided it was.
Old school quake and CS players do the same.
Attempting to be a civilised sportsman should not depend on how much you enjoyed the game.
With all due respect and w/o wanting to insuniate anything about you specifically, the problem is people getting their panties in a bunch when they lose and ******* in the wheaties of those that actually play for FUN and not to win at every cost with threads like these.
This has been debated to death before but I will say again that anything that requires little to no effort is not a display of good sportsmanship. If you think typing 2 letters makes you a good sport I am afraid you are wrong - being a good sport is something entirely different. I encourage you to offer a specific compliment to another player that struck you as good for any reason. You are not doing anybody a favor by saying "GG" and this minor expression you offer only satisfies your want to appear nice and fair and a good sport but in reality it doesn't make anyone but you feel good - you do this for you not the people you claim to compliment.

8-0, 7-1, 6-2 is not competitive, it's a stomp.
I'm not a little league baseball player, I don't need my confidence boosted by you implying that there was something competitive about the steamroll.
You know how U.S. Rangers said "good game" to the VC during Vietnam? Sometimes they dumped the corpses of guys they killed into the middle of villages via helicopter.

I'm getting paired with mostly random teammates that I don't get to choose, and who may be completely incompetent.
When I have no control over 7 of the 8 people on my team, I can play a great game, and get rolled because the other guys either make severe mistakes or are just terrible. Pretending that's a good game doesn't make you a good sportsman anymore than it makes a guy sitting in a deer stand waiting for a deer to come up to the feeder so he can blow it away makes him a good huntsman.

Neverfar is right in that if you really cared, you'd say more. Sometimes I do, but I'm lazy and slow typer.

And frankly, if I say it....regardless of how you or anyone else feels about it....what are you going to do? Nerdrage me to death in chat? I'll just ignore your dumbshit, immature attitude anyway, so feel free to vent and type to your heart's content.
Btw, I've asked Devs repeatedly to put in an ignore feature (part and parcel of so many online games) so people can ignore the trash talk of others, the poor-sport versions of GG, the insipid trolling etc because I think it would really help people's enjoyment of the game to put some people on ignore.....but that doesn't mean I won't ignore ya in the meantime if you're too thin skinned to deal with things like an adult when someone types two letters into the chat window.

I don't see your sportsmanship. Well, maybe I do, but it's the self-serving narcissistic kind that you do for your own benefit, not your competition.

This makes me smile.
The fact you put a lot of thought into it makes me all warm and stuff and an edit?! You shouldn't have.
I don't expect you to understand... but back in the old Mpig days a "GG" was the internet equivalent of a handshake.

Nobody wants to shake the hand of a 4-man that felt it necessary to all roll stalkers/poptarts just to be extra sure that they would never risk having a competitive match(not saying you specifically do this), but types like this seem to throw out multiple GGs the most. I'll tell you where to stick that handshake...

Oh, wait, no they don't, because part of Good Sportsmanship is Winning and Losing with Grace and Composure. Dignity.
Stomp or not, you @#$%ing say Good Game because that is what we have been doing since Little League and 1st Grade Gym class.
You always encourage the losing team, and you should never be ungracious in victory or defeat.
You've made the faulty assumption that most video gamers actually see direct sunlight and participate in sporting activities.

You apparently have a thin skin about us NOT liking those two stupid little "sportsmanship" letters that come from typically arrogant snobbish "elite" gamers.
I'm not complaining about complaining "champ," lol.
I'm simply stating my stance on it. Clearly you fit into the crowd that sets some sort of arbitrary, imaginary lower limit on when GG is acceptable and when it isn't. I'll continue to say it whether folks like you dislike it or not, when it suits me (as explained above) and apparently, you (among others) will continue to be upset about it.
Welcome to the internet
Luckily for this wee portion of the net, there's an ignore feature (ironice that PGI has one on forums but not yet in game).
