Should We Be Voicing Game-Balance Concerns On Reddit Or Facebook? Is That What They Read?

Simple question. PGI doesn't appear to take very much interest in the opinions expressed on their forums. I mean, MGs and Flamers did get buffed slightly; but if you look at the major problems with the game, they're all discussed to no end on this forum and they aren't getting fixed, or even talked about being fixed.

Should we be posting our concerns on reddit? I don't even know how to use reddit. Is there like a MWO .. section?

Facebook? Should we be commenting on their page, or posting sad pictures of Atlases carrying 3x LRM launchers?

If you wanna go italian style and argue on the street for all to see, you could... but they cant see how many agree and disagree there as there are no threads or thanks.

What exactly is the problem? The atlas always had 3 missle hardpoints.

Now SRMs are junky. LRMs are worse than ever. I don't know what to run on my Atlas now. UAC5s and LLs I guess. Streaks? Seriously, those missile hard-points are supposed to be filled with SRM6As and they are supposed to be punchy. They aren't now.

EDIT: I've been distracted from the main point of my question.

So Reddit doesn't have threads? How do they do these reddit conversations with the devs? I have never used that site. Yes, just consider yourself my tech support, kthnx.

Reddit is where they seem to be most frequently.

It's not going to matter at the end of the day. They appear to not be giving a **** about what the beta testers are saying anyway.

They obviously don't care what the "beta testers," or rather, "current customers," think. They probably do care what game review sites, and the authors of those sites, have to say. Don't those social media snowflakes all do the Facebook, Reddit, etc.?

Probably some nonsense about bacon.

Considering Flamers heat up our mechs more efficiently than the enemy, it's the perfect place to house bacon.

They follow the forums more closely than anything else.

Just because you might see more activity from the top end devs doesn't mean that more attention is paid to those avenues. There is a staff of 3-4 people dedicated to reading, summarizing, and making reports on the forums.

I doubt all of the staff reads the garbage that's put out. Even if they did read, some may or may not selectively pick out the useful of the bunch. It's a lot of BS because if one mod thinks it may be worthwhile, the others won't. It's a matter of perspective. Many good ideas are lumped in with the bad...

With that said, you know what would work better? More good/useful youtube vids like the infamous Jenner football vid (or better yet, the goons vs Paul). Anything that goes viral (good or bad) is something they'll listen to when people say "this is what happens in your game?" That's marketing at its finest.

They read ComStar focus group. They do not read Gameplay Balance because it's useless swill. It is a forum designed to catch senseless balance whiners, and is largely successful in that goal. Go read a section that matters if you have an informed opinion. If you are mad because you just died to a 9 SPL AWS and SPLs are broken, this is the place to post.

I wouldn't try Reddit.

The highest-voted comment would be some stupid meme that would be bounced around and mutated in a great meme echo chamber until they more or less totally ignored what you originally posted about.

Probably some nonsense about bacon.

Yeah, reddit is a horrible place and you really shouldn't go there.
Please leave us alone, we don't want to get invaded by forumers and have our post quality drop as a result.

They don't read the focus group. They stopped responding to feedback many thread pages ago in the 3rd person thread... let alone the ECM thread. Heck, I don't even read it anymore because there's too much stuff in it. Do you think the devs would like to sift through that disaster?

Yeah, would hate to sully the site with r/trees and r/spaceclop and r/nofap. etc. I'd go on but I could be here all day.

Well, that would at least give some use to my Facebook account.
