LOL! You are overly pessimistic today ain't ya?

I know your desire for a grandiose social sub-structure in this game jades any reasoned discussion regarding the chat system as implemented. That said... "something" is always better than "nothing" (Unless we are talking kicks to the groin... then "nothing" always wins) :P

The problem was I actually decided to play yesterday to try and get some headway towards 25 wins.

Normally I don't think about it too much.

But when you actually drop into PUG games, and try your best to help create a situation to win, only to be completely ignored. It really grates on you.

Most people do not play to win. They just play to play. I'm guilty of it too. Because normally there is really no reason to care beyond faster exp/c-bill gain.

"When my Rvn-4X hit 88MPH ........." <--- Your signature explains a lot Rvn-4X to pug? and it's Kph. :P

Yes it's broken and it's annoying but it's what we have until it gets fixed or until you find 3 friends and drop with them thus eliminating the problem. :D

You can wait for PGI or you can do it yourself.

They know about it trust me lol

I'd post "OH LOOK ITS THIS THREAD AGAIN" but then I read the first line where he compared Elo to affirmative action, and I thought...

"well...that's new"

(We always get into these deeper discussions don't we?) :P

Honestly, I think you'rr erroneously blaming the system for the failure in the player. While I'll admit a verbose social structure to include the chat system clearly enhances match outcome... There is no guarantee / assurance these players, in these matches, on this day... would have been any more cooperative were you to be whispering in their ear via comms than if your typed it in chat.

Bad players are bad players... No amount of communication can or will save all of them. and as I alluded to earlier, a "good" player teamed with "bad" players that expects them to suddenly be super-soldiers because someone gave them direction / order is doomed to disappointment and failure.

I know you want to make lemonade but sometimes you have to sugar the hell out of the limes and hope no one notices.

My favorite Elo moment was last night around 10 when my group of 4 got matched to the same 12 people 6-7 matches in a row, just alternating the teams. Yay for 4 premades hitting go as soon as everyone ends the match.

Was actually probably the most fun matches as everyone pretty much knew what everyone else was running and did tactics accordingly.

"Ok, so thats the 4 man medium team, they're going to cave rush"

"They have the poptarts, defend"

"We have the UAV, make it rain on 3"

I am so sick of the matchmaker putting me in scrub teams to appease affirmative action!

Instead of posting worthless stuff out here in the forums, why don't you create a couple of macros to clue in scrub teams? Most players will respond to positive suggestions.

I have not had to use macro's lately cause I don't seem to get into as many terrible pug games. Maybe it's cause I bring an fast assault so the lemmings follow me to a good position on a map? maybe it's cause I carry the team and eliminate the biggest threats? maybe it's cause I see a lone atlas go stalking off and I go help him?

Maybe I just get a better grade of puggies? Or maybe I just try harder?

I just think we need real objectives in the game so people care.

I'm not really looking for a deep discussion. I'm just doing a little venting about the sheer (self redacted) of people at times.

I'm not looking for any change or revelations. Maybe we'll get lucky with UI2.0 and some attack/defend type match with CW.

RIGHT NOW CRAPPINESS!

Okay... and I really wish for these things too... but let's be honest, do you think once the novelty wears off it will change the inevitable outcome?

Oh sure... at first folks will initially dutifully attack their objectives and or defend their asset... but like everything, folks will get lazy and choose the path of least resistance... which not surprisingly enough is killing the opposing team.

... Just like Conquest. :P

Here's to hoping for enough incentification to keep the natives from getting restless / bored.

I've demanded server browsers for a year now. Nothing.

Your first mistake was "demanding" server browsers...

I've just had a very frustrating night of it, too.

The teams I was on team lost 13 games out of 15. But I was the top or second-top scorer for my team in almost all those games. My k/d is >2, so I must be doing more than my share to help the team win.

It's really disheartening not being able to get to 25 wins when you're doing everything you can - including trying to help the team with basic tactics - but getting rolled by premades time after time.

Tomorrow is another day. Maybe I'll luck out 13 times before the challenge is over.

I am in agreement wit the OP. My record sucks because I get put on lousy teams. 9 times out of 10 I am the last person standing if I am playing a Light Mech in Assault mode, and quite often in Conquest as well. When I play an Assault Mech I am usually one of the first ones dead because all the scrub tards go running off when the enemy is moving towards a specific location that I have pointed out.

Also, I am fed up with being put in teams with super baddies who do less then 100 damage in Assault Mech's while I am pulling 200+ in a Jenner. I am not the best player, but if I am the last one alive or I am the one pulling the most damage on my team, there is something wrong.

Have you consider that the good pug players have taken a day or a few hours off, primarily to ensure they do not drop with you /tongue in check... and your really bad pug teams are dropping against just the bad pug teams..? :)

And then the question is what are you dropping in? Example,if you are actually better than the ones you are dropping with and you are using a hunch, you are not the arrow, the business end of the stick....and how exactly are you attempting the lead those teams, or do you even try?

A pug is a pug, it is not a cohesive unit. All you can hope for is that a few will stick with each other, be it 2 or 3 and they semi focus fire. What have you been driving and what has been your team's make up, for the most part?
