Hey folks,

is it just me or do you also sometimes face situations where you think
"Wtf? that should have killed my enemy 3 times and he still walks?!?!"

Happens from to time to time to me since one of the last patches, where in former times this was never the case. Seems to be related mostly to beam weapons somehow.
Only yesterday i had multiple matches where, with one and the same setup, i either managed to deal amazing amounts of damage or close to none (varying from 700 down to 200 with the SAME mech and build and nearly 100% identical shooting performance).

Example:
I was facing a dragon and full alpha´d him to his CT
(2 er ppc, 1 gauss, 3 srm6) ... Result was > CT cored
a shot from a lancemate (2 er ll) killed it

Shortly after that i circled my atlas around a corner and ran into a highlander. Full alpha to CT
(2 er ppc, 1 gauss, 3 srm6) ... Result was > CT yellow (wtf??!?)

Brawl with the highlander lasted some time longer and i managed to give him another 3 full alphas.... CT > orange and i died in the fire fight.

Anybody having similar problems or is it just me?

Well a highlander and a dragon are not the same mech.

But yes there are hit registration issues.

Its hard to say what was the case for you though since you are very vague about it all.

Of course thoose mechs are not the same ... but even a Highlander can´t stand a combined damage of roughly 200 damage to a single hit spot ... I do play mechwarrior long enough to know that and i can aim quite well.

If i could only say under which conditions that happens...
it´s more a feeling, than beeing able to judge that exactly, but for me it seems that the more beam weapons there are in a match, the more "packet loss" happens and some shots just do not do any damage.

Somehow i have the feeling that it has something to do with the new netcode, but i am not sure as said.
An indicator for that would be, that sometimes certain components of the enemys mech (e.g. shoulder, arm) get destroyed also i aimed (and HIT) the CT or vice versa. So some CT damage where i aimed (and visually hit) the mechs arm/shoulder.

Another circumstance where (at least i think) you can realize that is when you are yourself running with a XL engine.
Happens not that often anymore, that my mechs get destroyed by engine explosion, than they did some time ago.

Perhaps it is also some sort of strange "damage distribution" to multiple mech parts. Not sure...

Fact is, that this started to happen since the last two patches. Never had such problems before.

As soon as i am more or less certain about the root cause, i will post my opinion here.
Currently i only wanted to know if more people do share my experience on the battlefield.

Yup, I know what you are saying about you feeling something is not right. What you are noticing is probably the hits not being registered. As i said these issues exist and I never said this wasn't the case.

What I was trying to point out was if you want to investigate it and be 100% sure something is not right, you need to know exactly what you hit with and where how etc to calculate what should have happened compared to what did happen.

The you "being destroyed by damage you think they did some time ago" phenomena is a good thing and it means state rewind is working for the guy that shot you. No way around this unless you can reduce the ping between all players, but rest assured the person that shot you did so normally it just took a while for the hit to be processed. If this wasn't the case you'd have that guy coming on here saying "I shot someone and my hit didn't register", which sometimes happens. Funnily enough Half the time you are that guy, per your OP. You see how it all ties back?

You cant have your cake and eat it :D

As for other people having issues. I recall about 5-10 threads on this in just the past 2 weeks

So no your are not the only one.
