Worthless Light Mechs? Pgi - What Do?

Please tell me in as few words as possible, PGI, what you plan to do to make lights worth playing?

I think this may help, lately I've been feeling like I'm crawling through molasses. I'm pretty certain there has been a game speed change.. or maybe they scaled everything down. I mean lets make the pro and con list with a good medium as comparison:

Pro:
slightly smaller frame (not that it even matters in actual gameplay)
slightly faster in numbers (barely a difference in actual movement speed)
(~5 ton savings on drop weight which don't even matter)

Con:
less armor
less damage
less everything


Also, there is no dedicated role for lights. Scouting is barely needed in the first place with the combination of small maps and big maps having very few "alleys" of attack... (that and big maps aren't even that big.. you can see 70% of alpine standing in 1 of many spots). Then consider that they aren't faster than mediums that have the same bonuses.. (3M for instance). No reason to bring that light outside of leagues (that are pretty cobbled together as it is).


Just a simple question people, quit being so dramatic.


What is coming for lights to make them worth playing... or... special if you will.

Considering I am consistently scoring above 250 dmg in a Commando with only a LL and SSRMS, I'd hardly call that worthless.

Have you seen how many threads there are with people demanding some sort of entitled response? Like yeah, PGI has nothing better to do than answer loaded questions like these. I've seen about 20 today, I don't get it.

they are. You just need to get over the loss of super powered lights due to broken game mechanics and play them as lights not Cute lil'assaults

thinking one of my best ever matches netted me 150K 1600xp(seven count em seven savior kills but only 1 kill and seven assists) all in a com2D
Ended with me and a spider circlin' each other on one leg and on ml each timed out but we got the win on points...wow. I was shaking after that one.

Lights are like mosquitoes. The new and dumb ones get slapped hard but the good ones keep buzzing around your ear making you slap your own face all night.

My spider 5D 103 matches, 98 kills 39 deaths, 2.51 kdr. Lately as I have finally gotten into my grove with this mech I have been pulling 300s-500s in the damage department.

Im Australian with 280ish ping and these stats have been mostly recorded after the lagshieldfixes/state rewind stuff has been implemented.

Im not that great but Its my best performing mech and also my favorite to drive.

Worthless??

I remember those days, they crafted you into a good light pilot or you were instantly dead. As a light fanatic I cant wait till knockdowns come back, also the current collisions are somewhat buggy and can still get you stuck between another mech and a building and therefore dead.

First real answer... I applaud you for not assuming that I am super noobzors and run cookie-cutter lights like mini-brawling assaults.
