They tend to overpredict their development speed
So everything they say i add about another 2 months to the release
The release date will be pushed back as well.

Yes, we expected delays. We also expected some progress to go with that. Any new features since open beta went live? Oh right, ECM... that was a winner. Mechs and maps do nothing to change the staleness of the gameplay. This is literally the exact same game we were playing 10 months ago, albeit with better netcode and MOAR PPC's.
Edit: I should also add that the shift to the sniper meta in the past 2 months has completely ruined what fun this game was. And then the continual nerfing of the brawling weapons has made driving anything but an assault mech completely stupid. That's called gameplay regression, and PGI have proven to be pros at moving in all of the wrong directions, or just not moving at all (actually... mainly this).
Release? Any takers on it being pushed back to Summer 2014?

The two key features I am waiting for, and more or less am biding my time for are these.
CW (12v12/Planetary Conquest/Dropship mode)
DX11
The game should not launch, AT ALL, without those two things being in the game.

This is not unusual for a game studio, or really, any big project. Blizzard, for example, just gutted the whole development team for Titan and pushed its release way back. They can afford to do that only because they have a cash cow -- World of Warcraft. I don't think PGI has a cash cow.

They have accomplished some good things. The graphics are really great for a F2P game. The audio is amazing (except the ******* whump-whump constantly when you walk, which should be optional!) The variety of mechs is increasing.
Honestly, the worst thing about the game is bad balance. I really don't think balance is that hard for a game of this low complexity. There is no healing, crowd-control, stuns, AoEs except crappy air strike, etc. They really can rush through balancing in a few weeks or less if they decide to get the public test server up, and use it for that purpose.
Might they still have trouble with splash, missile pathing, etc? Yeah, absolutely.
Can they get all the obvious weapons right as soon as they actually start trying hard? Right now, frankly, they aren't. They can't be. It has to be just not a big priority. Otherwise, they would make more frequent tweaks.
PGI has no experience with a game like this, or honestly, any decent games at all. But do I really think they are so terribad that they honestly don't know MGs are sucky? No. I think they don't care because they are working on frames-per-second, disconnects / crashes, blablah, before they mess with armaments very much.
I disagree with their priorities and I think weapon balance can be far better for minimal time investment, but I am not without hope.

Any predictions if they blow past 90 days (i.e. it does not happen in June patches)?
Whats crazy is has anyone seen the bug that shows a Charlie lance on the before and after matches? One match I thought 'wtf I missed when they made it 12v12' because after the match it showed 12 mechs on my team, with a Charlie lance below Bravo. Then I looked closer and the player names and scores for Charlie were the same as Bravo, so they showed up twice. Then in another match, I saw 4 players listed in Alpha, then 2 in Bravo and 2 under Charlie. Makes me wonder if they had to push it back due to some bug issue of teams not populating right.

shhhhh.... the fanboys will hear you.
The truth is that PGI knows they can milk this cow for a long long time regardless of their performance. No matter how many deadlines they miss or how many times they completely go back on their word, people will still throw money at this thing.
Not sure if you saw the heavy metal release, but it spoke volumes about the spending habits of the community. I'm not sure how many they sold, but I wouldn't be surprised if the revenue exceeded a couple hundred grand from that sale alone.
They have missed almost all of their design objectives by wide margins and it hasn't made any difference at all. PGI has absolutely no incentive to improve. None whatsoever.

Valve has earned the right to make games on Valve time.
I have been a constant supporter. I might be critical at times, but I have always been hopeful.
Until I started watching the numbers on two TS servers declining, and in one case, more people playing other games because "Big stompy Robots has gotten boring"..
We should have been getting weekly, or at worst bi-weekly weapon balance changes for the last 6 months. A public test server should have been much higher on the priority list (it should have been opened the day after open beta started).
We should have had more game modes, to keep people interested. We have copy and Pasted Pilot trees that are exactly the same for every mech, and every class (Hey guys, that's not fun or exciting, its boring and repetitive, grinding in EQ 1 was more entertaining). We still don't have 12v12.
On the bright side, We had two day's where missiles were useful... in the last 6 months. And we got a Hard counter to ECM... instead of, you know, just Fixing ECM.
Best Looking Mechwarrior Game, Ever. Unless something changes, I fear it will be the shortest lived too.... We waited 10 years for this game, watching it die slowly is painful.

Although since then we have been given mouse sensitivity sliders!

Just waiting on the other myriad of broken promises now.

My entire group , me included (that's 8 people), uninstalled. I may reinstall when the game actually includes some of those features I paid for a year ago. So in other words, I probably won't be playing this ever again.
Some fun reminders of all the things this game was supposed to have by now:
- Dropship mode
- Asymmetrical Objective modes
- DX11
- Lobbies
- In-Game Voice
- 12 v 12
- Community Warfare
- CLANS, ************* CLANS WERE SCHEDULED TO BE OUT BY NOW
You know, I'm okay with all of that due to the bold part. Especially since our naughty regions were tickled with the concept of a proper reboot back in the day.

You've just put into words what I've been thinking (probably what some others have been thinking too), but I was afraid to admit it to myself.
When you actually see the words there on a page and read them, suddenly there's no denying it anymore.
This is depressing.
