Yesterday played 25 games, won 14. Need 11 more today, for the 25 Challenge.

Saw 6 DDC's and 5 3L's without ECM. In only 4 games did someone on the other team have AMS.

I skirmish with a CAT C-4 2xAlrm 15's, 2xSRM4's and 2 MED Lasers. The lack of LRM respect is making my life eaiser.

I guess that boating ERPPC's and GR's does not require ECM or AMS, when everyone else is pop tarting.

I've never seen so many, but I have seen D-DCs and 3Ls without ECM before. Its rare to me,
I've only seen 2 or 3 each the entire time I've played.

Anecdotal experiences in a small sample aside, PGI has the data so I'm sure they know the truth of it. I wouldn't sweat it just yet. And IF people are sacrificing ECM to squeeze another ton of something, somewhere, more power to em.

It's likely that the players you were playing with hadn't put the ECM back into their mechs since the previous patch. When ECM was given a designated space (like AMS), it automatically removed the ECM from all mechs which had it equipped.

If it was 5 3L's in different games (i.e. 1 a game) then it is believable. Granted I have seen far more DDCs without ECM than Ravens, but it is possible. Especially since they forced the ECM into it's own slot. The pilots may have had it somewhere else and it got removed. It happened to me on my COM-2D.

Some people may not have realized that the ECM on their 2Ds, 3Ls, 3Ms, and D-DCs was removed from their mech last patch and dropped thinking everything was hunky-dory. I know it happened to a couple of friends of mine.

I truly hope that is the case. I have played 10 games so far todat and have only seen 1 DDC without ECM. Still very little AMS to be seen.

alternatively if they put their ecm on counter mode you won't notice anything unless there's an ecm to be countered

It's possible they're going without ECMless deliberately, but I seriously doubt it.

I think when we meet those players, we have a responsibility as fellow players to let them know that the ECM hardpoint patch might have removed it from their 'Mech without them knowing.

Agreed. Most likely the Ravens were running in counter mode at the time you encountered them. I know sometimes I switch to counter mode just so I won't give away my position since other players can see they are being jammed when running disrupt mode.

A mech that actually can carry ECM?!?
