So yeah I'm saving for an atlas, and i want to buy the D-DC sooo badly because of its ability to use ECM. But, the only high damage loadouts i have come up with on smurfy's rely heavily on SMR6's. Since these srm's are not as powerful as they used to be, I'm afraid of buying this chassis because of that reason. I may have to go with the RS. any suggestions?

Another very nice build with the -D-DC is 2 x U/AC-5, 2 x PPC or ER-LL, or just maybe 2 x LB-10X with 2 x PPC. Plenty of options other than missiles with the -D-DC and this also gives you a whole side torso with which to store ammo, DHS, a BAP etc. etc.
The -D-DC has been the best Atlas variant for a long time now and not solely because it's the only variant that can carry ECM but also because it's the Atlas variant that has the most options for weapons carriage. The Atlas is generally deficient in hard points compared to other assault chassis. The -D-DC goes the furthest towards correcting this problem and as a happy bonus can also mount ECM.
That being said, the -D-DC does have it's foibles. If you're a new assault pilot I'd actually recommend going for the standard -D variant which has almost as many hard points (crucialy it also has 2 x ballistic hard points) and is nicely balanced between all 3 weapons groups.
I should explain that I've never piloted anythign except the Atlas since way back in closed beta. I've got some time in the old AS-7.
Edit: spelling.

My primary weapons are the AC20 and LL's. I throw the SRM's when the other 2 are cycling.
Always run 16 or 18 with artemis in my DDC. Feels great when you take down a mech from max range with a single volley of shorts.

You can play a balanced build on the DC with good success. I would try the chassis semi-stock before going down a specialized build path.
