If Elo matching becomes less relevant at the search for a game goes on, then why isn't it a user option to punch out of a bad match by setting a personal timer?
It's gotten real old being thrown to the wolves with a pile of noobs, and clearly any such game would be ignored by Elo calcs, as only two of the possible four outcomes are "significant," and "curb-stomped in a game that never should have taken place" isn't one of the useful ones.
There's plenty of Konsole Kommandos around here whom will cheerfully set the timer to max, and be spoon-fed wins. But I believe there's plenty whom would set the timer down to minimum, whatever that might be for the first corner on Teh Devs curve for matchmaking, and just relaunch if it bombs out.
Hell: If people start adjusting it upwards, and report back what setting ether gets them good games, or gets them any game reliably, or both, then we'd have done some real development, wouldn't we?
What's that? Elo would clearly be more accurate for some then others? Are you suggesting equally inaccurate, wildly inaccurate, for all is preferable?
