Looks like a typical middle year reskin of an older model according to the read. Reminds me of Nvidia repackaging its older cards with a new cover and faster ram and calling it a new card. ATI did the same thing allot. Its way faster than my current 5870HD for sure but my motherboard wont be able to upgrade to that card. Looks pretty though.

Nevermind just read that PCIE 3.0 cards work fine in 2.1 slots. I may think of upgrading soon.

I'm not really that impressed with the 700 series. The 770 is basically a tie with AMD's current old offerings for performance, and with both the 7000 and 600 series in value, meaning it brings nothing new to the table, while the 780 is very marginally faster, but demands such a price premium for that insignificant little bit of performance as to render the card a terrible value (just like Titan), being about 50% more expensive for what's maybe a 10% performance gain, on average (it was matched or beaten by the 7970GE in a number of games).

The 770 is a tie with the 7970GE while being a little cheaper, yes, but what the article neglects to mention is that OCed 7970s that are effectively GEs in every single tangible way are also available at $399, and carry the same killer game bundle.

On the other hand, it does have to be recognized that these are a refresh, and they do fill in a tiny performance gap for Nvidia at the 7970GE level, where the 680 is too expensive to compete. That at least makes the 770 useful, if not noteworthy, which is more than I can say for the 780.

In all, Nvidia is going to need something a lot more impressive to keep the Volcanic Islands release from being a bloodbath.
