Ok not really a section for this issue but here goes. Why on gods green earth does this website load like I am on a 14.5k dial up modem, seriously pgi throw some more Hamsters in the cage. I'm on fibre connection BT in the UK and every other website/forum snaps onto my screen like it was born there.

Or is somebody running this forum off their home hub on a 1ghz Laptop.?

Loads fine for me. Try posting in the website/forum feedback subforum where the website staff are more likely to see your issue.

Jack,

I have the same problem about half the time. Doesn't seem to be any correlation to time of day either. I'm on a fast cable modem service myself.

seems to be a timing thing. During the day I get fine load times, but at night it goes to a crawl. Either PGI is flooding their network (non-game side) with backups and other large amounts of data.. or their internet provider throttles that portion of their internet at night. After about 12pm Central Time U.S. is when I see it.

I have seen it as well. It happens at times when I'm thinking backups are occurring or when the forum is about to crash and needs a reboot.

The problem occurs at specific times of the day. Eastern standard time, it's 12:00 AM midnight (through 12:45 usually), and occasionally around 6 PM but this is not everyday like the 12 AM time.

There may be another routine time sometime in the AM hours but I'm not usually up in the mornings.

It's been explained away a few times (the 12 AM which is 9 PM Pacific) as 'maintenance hour'.

Edit: Interestingly enough though not likely related; those happen to be the times that Niko is most active.
