Devs,

Please try these changes for just one patch cycle.

1- Add convergence to the machine guns.
2- Increase range to match AC5 (1700m max)
3- Decrease weight of ammo to 0.5 (2000rnds per 0.5 tons)
4- If possible, have the machine guns be able to damage weapons when the target mech still has full armor. Damage not destroy (that is only if armor is stripped).

For example, MG mech meets Misery. Fires MGs for a few seconds that hit the gauss rifle. Gauss rifle takes 'damage' which increases its fire delay by 2 seconds.

Example #2: MG mech meets UAC5 mech. A few seconds of MG fire, the UAC5 takes damage and begins to jam a lot more.

Example #3: MG mech meets large laser mech. A few seconds of mg fire into the laser makes it malfunction (same as jamming in a UAC5).

This mechanic could be added as a low % chance proc. Say, 1% chance per bullet or something. Since the MG fires so many bullets it would not be suprising if a stream of machine gun fire can cause a target to have one or more of its weapons malfunction temporarily every now and then.

Changes should be implemented one at a time, so you can figure out which ones work and which do not. This process is known as the scientific method.

Last patch, we got six LRM changes in one go, none of which were overpowered on their own, but which when combined together, created forum outrage and an overpowered weapon system. Let's not do that again.

So, MG's could damage internals through armor plates, but any other weapon can't. That's stupid and unrealistic. Why should MG's be able to do that in the first place? It's the weakest weapon of all. If they could do that, an AC20 has the right do do it aswell.

I thought this request would be something sensible like add another 0,04 dmg to machineguns and remove cone of fire....

You do understand that MG rof is 10? 6-MG Spider™ would **** all your weapons in no time

The weapon hit by mg when armor plate is up is not destroyed. it is temporarily damaged.

Think of it as a 'jam weapon' proc instead of crit damage. I added different examples of 'jam' effects per weapon type.
