The map is located in the bottom middle of your cockpit.
it is very important as it tells you whats going on in the game

by using the map you will stop doing things such as running blindly into walls and chasing light mechs into obscurity while your base/points get capped.
you can also see the location of your team mates on the map and its a great tool for learning how to stay together or take an objective with the team.

if you can't use the map/don't like it, please uninstall the game and maybe think about not playing games online with other people as you are a hindrance to any team you are on
