The objective of this thread is simple: LBX autocannons, how are they?

They need their spread tightened to all pellets hitting on a medium sized target at 75% (405m) of its optimum distance.

I believe the optimum distance is 540m. At that range, you're lucky if half of those pellets are hitting.

Just got off MW3: PM

It amazes me that 2-3 LBX ac10 shots will totally ruin an Awesomes day, meanwhile back on MWO during beta it was useless and still is.

All close range weapons seem pretty useless, even the AC20 which knocks Sunders down if hit in the G-yro spot is a monster that would make streak cats blush.

And all that would be needed is a new weapons table, the LBX should operate much like the SRM6 but with bonus pointblank damage for face hugging.

The AC20 should have some serious knock down unless you're sporting a serious engine and at a walk.

Give me weapons with some flavor for god sakes!

THE PULSE LASER IS A TEXT BOOK EASY WEAPON TO DEVELOPE, ITS AN MG OR AC2 LASER ALERNATIVE! FAST FIRE RATE, BASIC DAMAGE, HIGH HEAT.

Instead we get a useless laser no one ever puts in their mech.

And that's probably all they need.

Pretty much, they are balanced numbers wise, but in practice they are near useless. They are missing the ability to load standard rounds as well, one of their key features.

The ability to toggle fire is all I really want. Sure, it could use a little damage boost and the chance to crit, but in the end I could do without them. The spread works fine for me when it's used approriately: up close (under 250m) and in light hunting. The reason it's got a range of 540m is so that once we can switch to standard rounds, that slug can fire far enough to ruin someone's day. At that range, yeah, the cluster munitions are almost completely useless.

The LBX Autocannon should be devastating at close range; at the moment its not.

Your poll doesn't have enough options. IMO, the LBX works as is, but is only lacking the normal ammo type.

I wanna see "toggle" but make it have its downsides (little ones/situational downsides not state wise):

>it has delay (when switching from normal to lbx)

>it could jam (for moment/ firing mode-wise) if you:
- toggle it often (when you decide you dont wanna have delay and do it violently like overriding shutdown)
- toggle it while your mechs heat is near the heat limitations
- when you get critical make it stuck so that mode that you had right before critical jams and stays in that firing mode until repair

And? You're a bronze bumping it.

LB-X guns need serious re-work. 'Nuff Said. The weapon tables of MW3 are a good starting point, and so are the MW:LL weapon features.

And golds defended it, they still shoot down any suggestions on machineguns.

3 shots, 3 kills...in a row in 30 seconds...2 lights (damaged) 1 medium( very damaged)..(i really wish a had fraps running, was so funny :)). i use LB10X in my cent currently, and used them on my dragons back in CBT... they are a great sidearm, not so much a main weapon... maybe buff the critseaking a little, i wouldn´t mind that

Give us the solid shot. Be it like a flak shot that once hits spreads some of its damage against the enemy mech when detonates to differentiate it from the AC 10 (that instead does 10 DMG in a single section) and we'll all be happy, provided we can switch the ammo type.

I'd love this even if I have to load the mech with two different ammo types for it. The buckshot can stay the same as it is now, it's useful against lights or very close range brawling but seeing 540m max range vs 450m for AC10 it's a joke as it is now.
