I really want to see a night version of the caldera or tourmaline, actually.

I'd prefer that they have a dusk or early morning map actually. True night (like River City)( on a large map like Alpine or Tourmaline would suck. I do wish that areas that should be much darker (looking at you caves on Forest and Frozen City) were actually dark, to the point that you needed to use different lighting systems.

If you turn the brightness down in settings you can make every map a night map.

As long as it isn't Alpine. Night on that map would be BAD unless it was like Frozen City night.

Alpine is so large, if it was dark, people would blindly stumble past each other and base cap all the time LOL.

Oooooh, I like that, mixed with VeryBad's early morning idea = awesome in a bottle.

I wonder what takes them so long? I mean it´s about changing the light on an already existing map. This is somewhat complicated with River city ( which they already did) because of all the light sources in a city( well, town), all other maps are next to free of those apart from the moon ( if there is one). Especially Tourmaline at night would look be interesting, becasue unlike frozen city with all the reflecting snow and ice or river city with all the light sources, it should be realy dark. Dark enough that turning off your cockpit light might actually be a good idea if you don´t wan´t to get headshotted at max view distance

Canyon night would be sweet, Alpine night would be acceptable if it was more dawn/dusk I guess.

Ya know, as much as I hate playing night maps, I have to agree that they are an interesting tactical hurdle. Tourmaline Night would be amazing, since the temperature would be basically opposite what is is now, making it a cold map.

Absolutely right, if they did it properly, Tourmaline would be very cold at night which would remove the overheating penalty. The flipside would be that the Mechs would really stand out in TI mode at distance making it an awesome map for us Snipers.

i'd like to see night versions of all the maps (including alpine) for some additional variety. Alpine night would be a little tricky given the limited range of Night and Heat vision modes currently, though fixing heat vision so that it doesn't let you see through buildings (seriously, wtf?) and making it show environmental heat correctly, especially on hot day maps would probably allow them to extend the range a bit.
