After months of following D-DCs into battle, I finally purchased one which I have christened ''Battle Sloth''.

I'm trying to maximise the damage it can deliver. Despite the usual ES and DHS upgrades, I feel like it's under-punching a bit in terms of damage delivery.

Given it has ECM, do you think I also need AMS? I'm thinking I could perhaps put those extra 1.5 tons to better use?

I carry it more then i don't, great for support of the teammates, and it does kill off those srm in a closer combat. Also it greatly reduces Tag damage you will receive anyway as a slow building anyone will fire anything they got at.

So if think you die more than you should bring it , it will extend your in game life. If however you are good at battlefield information awareness don't.

your a big, slow, mass of steel. yes AMS is worth the 1.5 tons, now that BAP counters ECM you have to be aware of ankle biters coming close to you and being targeted by missile boats ( hehe, no such thing as a boat :D )

What is your loadout that you need endo? Post your Atlas specs.

A assault mech is pretty much one of the few cases you'll mount ams these days, anything that can do oh I dunno 70kph can pretty much avoid too much fire from LOLRMs at the moment. You have the weight to deal with ams/amsammo and still have plenty of firepower on hand.

Here it is.

I realise the 350 Engine is eating up the tons. However, as a Medium pilot by preference, I can't stand moving any slower than that.

Cool build! I immediately put on an ac/20 and some streaks.
Makes me want to pick up that big engine for 62.4kph.

I run similar, but have mediums instead of large laz, and a pair of streak, if an ecm ankle biter gets near you, switch to counter, thats when the ams can come in handy,

not sure where the 62.4kph is comming from, I run a 350std with speed tweak I get 56.7kph

ok well duh..the load out doesn't figure your speed tweak into the displayed speed..

I have the d-dc too. When you move at 62 kph with ecm, you don't really need it.

I think you should check if you've unlocked speed tweak. Because I use a 350 engine and I get 62,4.
If you devide 62,4 by 1.1. You get 56,7 btw.

That is a very good idea. I may go with Streaks too, thanks.

I'm pretty sure I'm moving at 62kph with speed tweak.

The Atlas role is not to deliver the biggest / most ALPHA's on the battle field. Both my Stalker and my Highlander generally deliver higher damage numbers ... cause that is their job.

The Atlas is simply a beast in soaking damage ... especially when you master effective torso twisting so you can spread incoming damage all over the Atlas. Yes, the Atlas can pack a punch, and they can get high scores ... but that is not their *role*. Their role is to be a focus target, soak damage, and keep going so your team mates can focus down and kill multiple targets in the time it take the other team to kill you.

ECM is mandatory, AMS is good, but optional.

Interesting perspective.

I think you just said ''forget Atlases and go play Stalkers and Highlanders'' :)

This should answer your question : http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fd77c055dd8fe0d
This mech is an extremely capable brawler and a very fun mech to drive. Idea from SniperCzar and ams is helpful in certain situations. For example, [Richard] *** light mech comes from behind while you are beating a heavies *** and crits ur left torso, ecm dies, but frontal armor is still fine and torso is still hanging on, ams can back you up where ecm has failed you. You turn ur chubby *** around and **** the **** out of that raven for his insolence and walk happily to the enemies base and kill whatever afk d-bags are left. THE END. Also i ran a slighty weaker version of this on an atlas RS because i had one at the time and it was so F***ING fun crushing any who oppose(other than those pesky energy snipers but you can't win em all) i also broke 800 damage like three games in a row which is always a good sign. TY for your time - TANG OUT

Thanks. I've been meaning to experiment with LBX and will definitely give this loadout a go!

Before the SRM damage nerf:

DDC mastered
STD 350
3 SRM 6's
1 AC20
2 ML
1 ECM
endo
Double HS
and you can fit AMS on it too. Use to have a 70 alpha.
