Atleast it would be interesting to have a light/medium modul only
that would silence your moves that you cant be detectet via
that sensor! To not totally negate there scouting intercepting flanking role.

they should really just make it so light mechs are detected 100m, mediums 200m, heavy 300m, and assault 400m to match with the expected distance you can hear the different sized footfalls.

It definitely needs some adjustments. Speed + Weight should determine the size of the dot.
Also it currently picks up stationary mechs.

I was thinking something like this too, even though I'm currently loving the module.
They may need to balance(aka nerf) this by making it only useable on certain Mechs. Similar to what is done now with ECM.
Another idea would be it does not give full bonus/range for all Mechs, like some Mechs are specialized to get it's full potential but in general they have a 50% reduction in efficiency for all others.
- or make it available to all Mechs. However, it uses up more slots and/or weighs more for most Mechs but the specialized Mechs come with a built in % weight reduction/slot reduction bonus. Thus you essentially have to trade off more for the use of the module than the few specialized Mechs would have to.
Admittedly some of these ideas come from how modules and skills are handeled in EVE Online. This would add greater variety to builds. Also the idea of Meta Levels, like Std HS vs DHS now work.
They could introduce modules that buff your RoF, etc., but make the weapon take more slots. The customization tree can seriously branch with such designs introduced and at the same time add a balancing aspect.

By stationary do you mean still moving their feet by turning? because that means they are still stomping around even if not moving forwards or backwards..

Oh and also, ECM was king for how long before they implemented counters to it? can someone remind the general population of the forums of this? It will be AWHILE before we see any kind of counter to the seismic sensor, unless they do a kneejerk, appease the crying forum people, reaction nerf. Is it OP? yes, does it need a quick, untested, unbalanced nerf? hell no.

Well, it sure is good, not OP. Because everybody can use one, unlike ECM.
Leave the way it is now.
