Once everyone plays Assaults and poptarts - ideally both - the balance issues in MWO should become perfectly evident even to the most ardent advocates of jump sniping, and the remains of the community will demand balance changes.

About the build...
The lead requirements for the PPCs and Gauss Rifle make them bad matches for the Streak SRMs if you want to be fully effective and will either incur in reduced concentration or lost accuracy - though the build is viable for this variant.
I think you'd do much better in a HGN-732 with triple PPCs and a Gauss Rifle like the rest of the poptarts.

streaks are a great effort/ low heat way to chase off lights while you focus on sniping.

Should I take an XL engine so I can move much faster, or should I stay with my STD engine, knowing that generally speaking enemies will shoot off my PPC side as they close in (taking out my gauss and ER PPCs), leaving me the ability to fight them with streaks?

I keep dying in it now though, because I can't suppress the urge to Brawl . I can't wait until they temporarily fix SRMs again (before the usual crowd whines and gets them nerfed again).

I just about got my 3D elite profs finished before todays JJ shake patch. Maybe it will be a nerf too far, maybe not enough of a nerf, but either way I am done with the chassis. I just can't get on with cataphracts, and even though I told myself I would never level a mech I didn't like I found I had to because the variant was just so optimal in the sniper role (which is totally my bag). I'll be going back to my trusty K2 and I'm very happy about it.

To be honest, i have tried pop-tarting and it just simply does not do it for me. Unless i can smell the fear on you as i rip your wrecked hide apart with my -4SP (i call her Sharon) it... just... does... not... get... well you know. And while i know there are meds for that.. it is still not the same thing.

Do i die 9/10 times... yes. Do i kill at lest one sugar-snack each time... Not by a long shot.

But i do not give a flying fornication. Because i have fun while doing it, so if you feel it is fun to sit there and plink away, praying that none flank you (or at least that the rest will help you should it happen) then by all means keep on trucking. Me i rather ram a SRM up your tailpipe and kick it so hard you can feel the smell of propellant in the cockpit.
